i'm also struggling with the roll.
this jeans look great, i like that they are a semi boyfriend. they look great with these shoes. i like them with the cons. as for the booties, you may also want to try unrolling, and semi tucking the jeans into the booties.

My boyfriend jeans are much looser. I am finding them harder to style in cold weather as they lend themselves best to bare ankles and rolling up cuffs.

I remember the YLF hysteria over those Hysterics - they are fab! You look like a bobby-soxer.

These jeans look really great, and like they fit very well. I love the shoes too. I'd say don't write off trying the socks with the oxfords straight away, it can look pretty cool with the right socks and as others have suggested perhaps another roll so the showing sock looks intentional. I have burgundy leather brogues and wear them with burgundy and black polka dot socks showing with rolled BF jeans and it is one of my favourite outfits. Saying that I also love them with both converse and heeled ankle boots!

I've added a couple of pics from my inspiration folder...

Great jeans and stunning shoes, Tricia!

I'm with Suz, and suggest that you play with the roll a bit. To my eye, one more roll, if it's not too thick, would look great, although I wouldn't hesitate to wear them as you are here. With booties? Absolutely!

I'm a fan of a little retro! Good to see you post!

I like a good midrise too so these jeans look pretty good in my eye.

I'm one of those people who don't like to wear socks with flat oxford style shoes (if I can help it). Unfortunately, I live in a seasonal climate so need socks in the winter time.:)

Hmmm, I'm thinking we both like retro styles so you may be my fashion twin? I'm 5'1" but not as skinny as you. Looking forward to your posts.

Thanks! I don't like super slouchy fits anyway, so I'm OK with these not being "boyfriendy" enough. As for Converse with them, I'd have to do that with no socks, right? I may have to resort to secret socks, because sneakers without socks are uncomfortable and stink. I do live in a climate where I can go sockless or mostly sockless most of the year.

I'll try rolling and some other shoes and post some more pictures.

These don't look like boyfriends, exactly, but they do look great on you. I love your semi-tuck and the shoes! With the roll, it pays to experiment a little. Maybe try another roll and see how you like that. As for booties, they will work great! And they'll be brilliant with Cons. I have a pair of slim but not skinny jeans like this from J. Crew (I sized up to get that fit) and I love them with my Cons.

Mine work nicely with my Okalas, booties and shooties. Also, flats will do, athough not as nicely as heels, but I think they look best with stockings, not with socks, at least on me.
I cannot see your picture yet, but those are my five cents on boyfriend jeans.

I agree with Laura - they look like a nice-fitting not-to-skinny/not-too-loose jean for you. I wouldn't call them boyfriend, but I think they fit well. Have you tried them unrolled with booties?

I like them on you, but they don't look boyfriend-y to me - not loose enough. More of a standard jean fit imo. I like the rise.

I haven't been doing the bf jean thing much myself so I look forward to what others suggest. I tend to default to ballet flats with any cropped/rolled pant but there have to be other options!

I haven't bought jeans other than bootcut or skinnies in probably a decade. This year I thought I'd try something different, so I got these Madewell "slim boyjeans." I thought I liked them (and it's too late to return them) but I'm really not sure about how to wear them. They were rolled up to this length when I got them, and I haven't tried to unroll them. Normally I wear them with ballet flats, but today I tried my black and white oxfords. I had socks on at first, but that looked hideous. (I am 5'2" if that helps. Maybe any flat shoes are a no-no with these?)

Also, these are more of a midrise, which I generally like because I can't stand low rises - but do they look like mom jeans? I tried a semi tuck here too (another thing I've never done...how behind am I?)

I just bought some black booties with a small stacked heel - can I wear those with these jeans? What about my Converse low-tops? and I can't figure out if I should wear something more slim-cut on top or more fluid. How can this be so hard?
