Your black dress and blazer are really, really lovely together, very classy, and your sandals are beautiful too, but you are right, they look a bit casual (not "dressy") in comparison to your clothes. I believe metallic simple shoes with a matching clutch would look more dressy (maybe some low wedge dark silver shoe with a matching clutch?). You can also use your sandals with a clutch matching their color, but instead of a belt I would try some eye catching jewelry with a "not too sophisticated and not too casual" style (in-between your shoe and your clothes) :)

ps.: my mother has similar issues (she has serious knee problems, so it's quite difficult to find social/formal shoes suitable to her needs). I gave her a pair of low wedge dark silver "ballerina style" shoes with a matching clutch a few years ago. Together with tailored blazer and pencil skirt they look more dressy, but the shoes alone work well with jeans too. Not sure if you are able to use something like this, but hers are very similar to this ones:
http://www.neimanmarcus.com/en.....s/prod1755...

I love the black ensemble! It will be lovely with the sandals. The jacket is perfect for the ceremony, and at the reception, you may want to remove your jacket, in which case you'll be looking gorgeous and fancy in the strapless dress. Personally I'd try a necklace rather than a belt. Something sparkly. And a clutch, yes--great idea! Maybe something metallic to echo the strap and detail on the sandals. Or a color could work, too.

For an evening wedding you can wear black, and your black dress with a topper looks appropriate for the ceremony. I would not wear an all-white dress to a wedding.

I like the sandals, sort of bronze? Antique metal?
Could you pick up some of that in a dressy littly cardigan with sparkles?
A really luxurious lacey shawl with a pin or corsage?
Those would look especially good with the romantic upsweep. You must havea lovely lot of hair.

We, I would not wear the white dress to a wedging. I think you can wear black nowadays , especially evening at the club, but I would try make it more fun , maybe more summery, by adding some color in your çlutch and necklace. Either " your" colors , be that hot pink or cobalt or something, , or black & white. Metallic could also work but can skew too cocktail.

I love hair #4 & 6. I like the idea of a black patent belt. Don't know how everyone will feel about black for a wedding, but I feel it's traditional and like it!

Hi everyone,
I have a family wedding I am going to on July 25th. It is an evening wedding at the press club in Moncton NB.
I have special needs when it comes to footwear so this was the first item I chose. I have a strap that needs to go on the front of a shoe and then wrap up around my ankle for my drop foot. So no nice fancy little pumps or booties for me. I did manage to find a pair of sandals. They are not real dressy but nice never the less and fulfill the need. They are by Reiker and in my picture #1.
I then had to decide on a dress and sweater/jacket. I have a little black strapless dress and I then tried on several shrugs etc. I then remembered my little boyfriend blazer I recently purchased and put it on and I must say I think that it worked. The boyfriend blazer has ruched sleeves and I will be wearing it open.
I do need help deciding to belt or not belt. I like it with a belt and I was going to aim for a colour that is in my sandals. Hubby said black. I also need a purse. I was thinking of a clutch type to hold cellphone, wallet, and keys and a couple of small items. Any suggestions for a purse? Should I belt the dress?
I am also planning on doing my hair up as well.. I was thinking of one of the styles in the pictures I have uploaded.

Here are the things I have so far.

If I get a chance this coming weekend I will try and take a picture or two. I do need to wear the jacket due to my flabby arms.

**Edit**

I also picked up the little off white dress in picture 7, but I am having a hard time with a sweater/jacket... Any suggestions? This dress would certainly be more summery for the wedding.. But I also do not want to take away from the bride. The dress is on a larger size model and not nearly as big as it looks in the picture. Hubby does not want me to get a patterned dress.
