I agree with Rita, and especially since your hair is blonde, that you can just treat these as "nude". Even if you were to wear a lot of black on top, your face and hair will most likely provide all the lightness necessary. So I would say the thing to balance isn't going to be the lightness of the boots, but rather the slouchiness/volume and the level of dressiness.

I'm not at all caught up on my blog (it's still stuck back in April, heh) and with my computer crashing it probably won't happen any time soon, but I do have several late winter/early spring outfits with my taupe tall boots posted that might be helpful for you: http://aidascloset.tumblr.com/.....eled-boots

You have got so much sound advice already, but I wish to chime in and support wearing them with black, denim, white - whatever you have. A light scarf or bag is enough, or a sleveless top, light pearls etc. You will work it out! Try creating outfits on your bed, it really helps.

Deborah, I agree with Celia. You are a blond like me, so these are really just a nude boot on you and you would wear them just like a nude shoe. My pics from yesterday for my bootie choices weren't the best (unstyled, emphasis on the shoes), but you can see from them that the color works exactly like a nude. You can ignore it really.

They all looked great with denim, both the skirt and the jeans. I would take it easy the first time and try to pick a top that had a little of the color in it (like I used my black and tan stripe), and then break out from there. Try them with a dark skirt too and then add a lighter or brighter top. Then take photos!

Honestly, photos may be key. I just know that if you look at these styled and photographed, you will see them from an entirely different perspective. They will disappear in the outfits and just look gorgeous and lush. (Confession: I had the same fear with the booties I tried on, but looking at the photos I could see how they blended, especially the nude colored ones, which are closer to these than the taupe ones that I tried on.)

This are great boots.I would wear them as you would wear a neutral pump, to elongate bare legs.
They will go with any color and even if you paired them with your black and whites they will look fab.

Deborah - I love mine with blue denim, and I also wear them with skirts and dresses. As Rita mentions, I do try to have a bit of the color repeated up top, but I'm not sure it's always necessary given my hair color.

I don't try to match my nude boots. I just pretend they are their own separate entity, like nude pantyhose. I have dark hair and most of my wardrobe is on the dark side too. When I wear them, I try to have just a bit of light in the top part of my body, like animal print, cuffs turned over or something like that. I really don't think this is going to be an issue for you because you have light hair. Try them with a dress! I want to see some styled shots!

I was going to say...you need some more taupe in your wardrobe!

In all seriousness, they will look stunning with denim. In spring you can show some skin to lighten things up elsewhere. Have you tried them with your cobalt and marine blues? How about your corals? Taupe and red can work really well, too.

I also think it works with black. You just need to do some bookending. Your hair will do that to a degree, but I expect you'll need some more lightness elsewhere, too.

I've been wearing my taupe booties with just about everything. Admittedly, a bootie is a different thing from a boot. But I wear with black, denim, and colours. Taupe works really well with a leopard print, too. Or burgundy.

Hi Deborah, love the colour of these boots - they will look great with your hair. And the black you have in mind and the beige boots together is such an elegant pairing.
I picked the following for colour blocking ideas, not for the outfit pieces per se - (as you will see some of the footwear shown is not even boots). The common thread seems to be the placement of a light colour in the upper part of the outfit --e.g. a beige – or white – jacket, pants or bag. Showing a fair bit of skin (e.g. bare arms and open neckline) would also count as a “light upper colour”.(I also saw some very inviting combinations of pale blue denim and black together with beige boots – unfortunately the pics were really unclear.)

Hi Ladies,

I need some help... please:) You may recall some months back I bought these light colored boots after a lengthy search for the 'right' ones. Well I love them but I have only worn them twice. Both times, I have worn them with skinnies tucked into them. But I am struggling a bit with how else to wear them.

I feel confident that these will be fine with dresses and skirts but light footwear is still new to me and my wardrobe is quite black heavy. I am unsure if say a black dress with the boots would be too 'heavy" looking.

I would really appreciate knowing how those of you with light colored boots wear them. Visuals would be fantastic. And any suggestions/direction would be much appreciated. I am hoping to get some wear out of these over our Spring.

Thanks so much
xxx Deborah
