JulieJohn- sorry I pulled you out of the dark!

Kate-You know, I thought this might appeal to you and I love the term "stompy" so gonna steal it! The hair was a little interesting in style, just having had it cut and using salt spray for crunch.

ChristieAnne- I gotcha, but as an IT I'm finding that even my dainty footwear needs some chunk, hence the platform on the SW booties.

Sharan-Why thank you. High praise coming from you! I will try other skinnies, but ran out of juice with just the options uploaded. This is HARD work!

Vix- I agree, there are about a million options that I'll get started on. I like the idea of matching the shoe, if possible, which is why tall boots are easier. Stay tuned.

Ruth- <blushing> but let's be real, when it's cold enough for the dress, am I going to want to show the lilly whites? BTW, the sleeves ARE pushed up, but the cuffs are permanent and tight, so that as good as it gets!

Claire and Lyn- Tonal hose is a great idea, so will see what I can find. I have some semi-opaque fuchsia tights but think that would push me over into cray cray territory.

Lisa- Music to my ears, as I have some killer fuchsia lipsticks/glosses which I hope aren't too crazy old lady. Lil!

Denise- I'm with you in thinking tights will be the thing.

Staysfit- I've only had them for two days, but they're great with Skinnies and boyfriends and I intend to wear with slacks that are hemmed for heels during my rainy day bus commute. They're really comfy and should be warm.

Angie-Thanks a bunch, loving the ease and finish it adds to an outfit, even without makeup!

Deborah- Interesting take on JFE vs unconventional. The interesting part about the dress, at least to me, is that The pink shows more or less, depending on your movement/position!

Sarah- I'm flattered! I managed to dig up some green sweater tights that I think might match and will try in both configurations. Nice to know I'm not crazy in my love of this dress!

Janet- that skirt sounds super fun! Would have loved to see it on you. I think I freak my coworkers out a little when I wear it, since it's so different/forward. Other outfits garner at least a comment or two, but not this dress ;-)

Jackie- I did keep them, so will give 'em a go. Dunno how well the light grey will work, but never say never!

This is a funky piece and looks really great in all renditions. Hey, would it work with tights and your Pikolinos? (from NAS? I think you kept those uber comfy boots?).....

I really like it with the tall boots and the camo skinnies. I agree that tights are going to be hard to find. I also like it with the first pair of boots, but that might lead to seasonal confusion with bare legs. It is gorgeous.

I'm late to this, but I had a couple of Skunkfunk skirts a few years ago (which have departed since they were loose-fitting to begin with, and then I lost weight). In particular, I had a teal one with burgundy zippered panels much like the style of this dress -- I could zip them open or closed to show a little or a lot of the burgundy. Really cool, but it was challenging to style, so I tended to go with really simple pieces to let the skirt stand out. Black turtleneck, black boots...

But this dress is really fun on you, and I love #1 in particular. I also like the SW booties with it.

I LOVE the dress too -- so interesting and unusual. I particularly love it in the first set of photos -- you look absolutely fabulous -- I think this is one of my favourite WIW posts EVER, in fact! I might well wear it all the other ways you have styled it too (possibly adding dark/tonal tights or leggings to connect line from the dress to the footwear). WRT the camo look, when I first looked at it after looking at the dress at its full length I was less keen on that look, but when I looked at it again without first looking at the dress-length stylings I actually like it -- it is also an interesting top, and the camo does combine well with the olive of the dress. I had been going to suggest you wear it dress length with the camo trousers (in addition to all the other ways of course!) but I do actually like it as a top too. With this dress you can make so many interesting outfits! Superb! LOVE IT! You look spectacular. Love the hair with it too.

Such an artful dress! I love that you can style it any number of ways. It's interesting because there are elements that I find conventionally flattering and other elements that are not but that makes is all the more fun. How does it feel to wear? Do the pink panels stay where they should? I am fascinated

I just want to comment on the sorrels because you are already getting good feedback on your dress. I love the boots and almost purchased them. I ended up with a pair of Bos Co Hiking boots instead because they seemed easier to wear with more cuts of pants, as well as possibly skirts/dresses. I'm curious what you've found so far with yours?

The dress is so cool and looks fantastic on you!!! It's a statement piece so I think it works to keep the supporting acts simple, as in photos 1 and 2. I also love it with the maroon wedge sneakers because it gives the dress a fun sporty weekend vibe.

If wearing pants I'm for a neutral knit legging either in a matching green or other shade like black, I feel the camo jeans fight for attention with the dress.

What a cool dress! You had my attention at "Skunkfunk". It's photographing more grey than olive, but that aside, my eye goes to the Sorel's and the Stuart W's as being the best match colour wise. I like the SW's especially :)

With a dress this interesting, I wouldn't want to draw attention away from it with other colours, and with black high boots. I'd go as tonal on the tights/hose as possible, and keep the focus on the dress and your hair. Perhaps a bright lip in the pink tone - not crazy old-lady lips, but something glossy and puncy- and a bracelet or watch or something at the wrist to finish it off.

First, I have to say I am thrilled to see the sorels on someone. I linked them a week or two ago. I like the dress a lot. The combination of fuchsia and olive is a favorite for me. I prefer the dress with the chunkier shoes rather than the more refined version and also really like it with as a tunic with the camo pants. I would agree that a sheer tight in a color that blends with the shoe or hem of the dress would work well.

It may be too "out there" but I wonder what it would look like with a really dark burgundy legging or pant. I suspect it would either look really good or really bad. I am sure that helps a lot. NOT

Thanks for sharing this Dashielle.

It's very elegant but has a great chunk of funk/edge. Think Debs from Oz would be happy to add a similar one (in her dark neutrals) to her wardrobe....(?)

I love all renditions except the purple sporty wedge. Here, as Vix said, a tonal tight might work as a link.

I actually like the bare leg looks because skin adds some contrast relieving the darkness and book ending your pretty face especially with your light skin tone. Pushing up the sleeves would also work, might take away from the structure of the dress.

Hi Dashielle --

What an amazing dress, and one that looks very elegant on you! I actually like all the items you've paired with it, though I agree you might try the camo pants longer.

Since you asked...because it's a colder weather dress paired with those types of shoes, my eye does want to see some tonal connection between hem and shoe/boot. I think anything in the medium neutral range could work with the lighter of the shoes, then a darker tight with the brown and burgundy.

I personally like my legs to be lighter or more or less matched to my shoes/boots, but I know others pull off the dark leg/lighter shoe well!

I like the dress best with the Sorels and the Stuart Weitzmans--I actually think the latter are a match made in heaven for it. I wonder if you could wear black tights with it. I like it worn as a tunic over the camo pants, but think I'd prefer the look without the white band of the roll. Would the pants work if you let them down to full length? How about trying it over dark wash skinny jeans? Or black skinnies?

So striking! I like the dress and can envision you taking it funky over the camo jeans (or white skinny jean - good idea) to an art opening or museum. I have a preference for daintier footwear so off course I like the second boot.
Very fun wildcard for bringing out in cooler weather.

Great dress! I like it with the first shoes and also with the knee high boots assuming the colors look good near each other. Not crazy about the camo pants but I never am crazy for camo pants.

Dang that's a cool dress. I like the first look with the Sorel's the very best (also like the Louise Brooks hair ). For some reason the slight stompy look works better for me than the more refined footwear. I also wonder how it would look with solid colored leggings or skinnies. I'm also thinking metallic shoes might be an option?

What an amazing dress. I love it with the Sorels but the other 2 outfits work well to. I would definitely wear this more if I were you. It is fabulous!

Ok, dang! I was just going to lurk but you MADE me post! This is a superb dress, and I love how you have styled it. The camo pants are a natural pairing, also the tall boots are divine with it.

I don't know what other items you'd need to add for texture and color, because this beauty is a statement in itself. But just for fun, I'll recommend trying it with another pop of pink, either in suede shoes or a sequin clutch. Also would love to see it with white jeans.

I've had this army green Skunkfunk bubble dress since Christmas 2011 when I fell in love with its funk in a little shop in the Marais. It has insets of fuchsia pink in the sides of the front and down the middle of the back, and little globe shaped buttons at the neck. I've only worn it maybe 3 times because it's very warm/heavy stretch ponte. When I wear it to work, it's always been over dark blue denim as a tunic. Fast forward to now, and I have all of your expertise as well as what I've learned in the roughly six months I've been a Fabber, so I thought it wise to get a jump on planning outfits and took some photos to get this party started!

I've styled it bare legged with some new chunky greyish wedge booties (Sorel Joan of Arctic wedge) and various oldies but goodies from my past.
Tall chocolate brown suede pointy toed boots (Jimmy Choo), some burgundy suede wedge high tops (Ash), and some dark taupe platform booties with grommet detail (Stuart Weitzman). The last shot is my camo skinnies (Joes) to try it as a tunic. The pink folds are kinda hanging out, as I had just pulled my hands out of the pockets in this pic (yes, it has pockets!!!). The bottom has a wide welt and a side zipper that allows it to stay up on your hips, should you chose to wear it that way...super versatile. The cuffs are wide and have six of the same buttons as the neck flap. I wish the color photographed truer, but oh well.
So, tell me your thoughts. I could also wear tights under it, but would be interested to hear thoughts on color/texture to work with the green without adding to much crazy, since the dress already has ALGO.
