I really like the idea of a button up, especially if you can find one the same color as the pink/purple accent. Gray might work as well. I think the colored button up would keep it from being schoolgirl-ish.

I like the idea of a white button-up, if that doesn't end up too schoolgirlish. Also a black sweater and fun contrasting tights.

Thanks ladies! It's a strange pinky purple, so matching that is tough, maybe I'll grab a matching paint sample and stick it in my purse for future shopping sprees. I do like the striped sweater or pink sweater ideas. And the denim jacket (need a new one of these).

I can do white shirts and black tees or turtlenecks, so I'll start with those. I also have a belted knit vest thing that might work. Time to wear it again!

How about a white button down, shirt, tucked in with black tights and boots and maybe a silver necklace or hoops to pick up on the buckle?
I also like really like the idea of a striped sweater with the pink and something else.

You may have to take this skirt shopping.

It's very cute.

Knit skirts are hard for me too. A tucked in black T and denim jacket over top? Black tights and ballet flats?

I'd wear it with black tights, a simple black sweater (maybe a turtleneck) and flat or low heeled booties. And maybe a simple bright coat over top.

Hi Elizabeth - I really struggle with the fabric too and avoid it. I think that you need to match it with a weighty fabric but not sure. How long is this skirt?

It's definitely winter... a heavy ponte fabric.

It looks kind of sporty/preppy. My first impression was that it looked like a tennis skirt. How heavy is the fabrication? It seems to be more of a summer skirt than something you'd wear jackets or sweaters with.

I bought this skirt last fall, but have rarely worn it,because I have a really hard time figuring out what to wear it with. The colour is obviously slightly restrictive, but I love the bold stripe... it's why I bought it. Because of the ponte fabric, I don't feel it goes with any of my black woven jackets. And sweaters cover the buckle detail, which is a shame. Any suggestions? I struggle more with the fabric than anything else.
