To me the top in #1 and #2 looks too large for you and inches where you do not have them. I like the look of #3 and the topper in #4 that you are wearing with the black turtleneck much better. Try scrunching the sleeves to see how that changes things. You look good in the long tunics over skinny bottoms. The coral is a great color.

Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions. I am going to try the first sweater with sleeves pushed up and I have several scarves that will look good with it. I feel the cold more as I get older and will wear a heavier thermal layer under this one. I go back and forth about exchanging it. It is still wrinkled from packaging, so I think it will look better.

Aquamarine I do put most of my cashmere in the dryer for 2-3 minutes. So far I've had no problems except for a very inexpensive Macy's one that I should have sized up in anyway. I can still wear it though under a jacket or cardi.

I'm reluctant to size down because I see myself all cozy in front of the fireplace, (even with warm layers underneath) and my cats.

We had no damage here and the thirsty plants have really perked up. My sister north in Placer Co got lots of rain but they are okay. She took her two grandsons 12 and 10, for a walk in the rain, which filled up their rubber boots and they thought they were having a great time.

BTW, I have 2 Bombard sweaters and a long scarf, all cashmere bought on sale when we were in Paris 6 years ago. They are still going great and that cashmere doesn't itch on me. Every year I wait for the sales and still hesitate on spending so much. So much easier when we were already spending thousands of dollars to stay in Paris for a week with our son and his wife!

I have done pretty well in the past with Lands End cashmere.

Thanks again for all the advice. And WHBM sent me a reward card so I used it to buy two more of those turtlenecks in different colors. You'd think I had a birthday coming up.

I think all outfits look good! The coral tunic looks fine to my eye but sizing down could work maybe. In my experience, those type of tunic sweaters “grow” between washings. Or, they shrink if you put them in the dryer!

The melon(?) colour of the tunic is lovely on you, but the top swamps your frame. Can you size down? Even if your body is/has changed, I don’t believe you need to size up, MM. Sometimes a little structure (but still soft fabrication) can do the trick.

PS: your hair is really cute!

Definitely worth playing around.
The irony of the storm damage after so much drought is a bit frightening.

Hey, I meant Fabbers, not fibbers.

SF, the first top makes me wish I had broader shoulders. I usually don't wear belts over tops but I'll try it. The top arrived after dark but I couldn't wait to try it.

JAileen, that's a lot of rain for you!

Rachy, I have been looking at photos of the "new" oversize look/tops and I'm getting more used to it.

Angie thanks. I'll try scrunching the sleeves, at least until my arms get cold. From what I've read so far, it will be another few days before we find out the extent of the damage from wind and rain. My sister in the foothills of Monterrey County said they got 2" of rain, which is good for them. So far not much. Haven't heard from my sister up north of Sacramento yet. Stay safe.

So lovely to see your smile again! Your owning up to feeling bedraggled at the end of the day made me smile too. Who hasn’t felt that way?

I like the red tunic and the outfit with the cardi. I’m not so into the first sweater for you. I don’t know if a belt would help, think it’s basically just the wrong shape. The second one seems to have more of a flared bottom instead of welt under your bottom. I find that shape more flattering for you.

I haven’t looked to see what the actual precipitation levels are, but the last couple Octobers seemed like nonstop grey and rain, whereas this year it seems like we are getting less rain, more sun, but it could be colder than recent years. I’ll take it.

I came across this wonderful coral cashmere sweater at Lands End. Of course there was a discount. I didn't realize how oversized it was. I love it though. I got an M, which is usually big on me from LE, but small with other retailers.

Too big? What about length?

Does something like this require leggings or skinny pants?

I've been looking for a top in the right color of red and found this Vince Camuto--cotton, polyester. If I look a bit bedraggled, well, I was, and tried it on late in the day.

Last one is another cardi I got from Macy's using the money I saved buying new sheets on sale. Don't you love my logic? Again, how to proportion this.

My body proportions have changed in the last few years. Yeah, aging I think it's called. I would like any advice on how to proportion/style these tops.

Best of all, when I was bringing out winter stuff from my drawers, I found way too many pairs of unworn pantyhose, and three body shapers not worn in years. I got out my tote bag from the Elton John concert 2 years ago--seems like a century now--and put in all these miscellaneous items I want to keep for now and hung it in another closet out of the way.

And I found this black WHBM turtleneck I bought last year. I can't wear wool turtlenecks anymore and was feeling sorry that I didn't have one, but I do! Worn with Macy's cardi.

Last October we had no rain. Our backyard rain total for 20-21 was 10.85". Yesterday and this morning we had 4"! So relieved. Nice rain, none of the problems they had farther north, and grateful that fire danger in our area has dropped.

How did you fibbers in the north SF Bay do? I hope everyone is safe and dry.
