I like the raspberry one for your coloring, and I'm sure it's better made. It think anything in the red family like this will work well with black and white (and other colors as Suz mentioned). I don't recall your shoulders being especially broad, so the detail at the crown should be fine for you. Order it and let us see it on you!

Thank you so much ladies! Kyle, yes, it is the Tinley Road blazer. I think I am going to order it and see how it fits.

Raspberry looks like the Tinley Road blazer. I have that in red, actually. Nice quality and great tailored fit and I love the shoulder detail. I think it's a good match for your style.

Another vote for raspberry! I think it's bright enough to be a great replacement for red in almost all combinations (only exception I can think of is a favourite pairing of red and raspberry! where you'd have to reverse the colours), is the more apt choice for warmer months, and is certainly the more individualistic choice.

I understand your concern about too much warmth/heaviness for summer, as I live in the tropics. However, with a knit, it should be possible to simply bundle the blazer into a bag if you're too warm, with no ill effects to the garment. It's what I do with my sole blazer --- quilted cotton! but yes, it does mean your tops have to capable of standing on their own in the outfit, and of course this only works if your dress code allows!

In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I have a poisoned eye against poofy shoulders. I think the raspberry color would be really pretty on you and I like everything else about the shape of jacket #2, but those shoulders would be a deal breaker for me. I think #1 is a beautiful red, I like the "scrunched" sleeves and also the shape.

The raspberry will be beautiful with your colouring and will look great with what you own, particularly with your navies but also with black and white. It might take you into autumn with browns (if you wear browns) or with greys.

I would love raspberry for you, Tanya. I think it will look more interesting and a little unexpected with black and white but because it is a bright it should work with them.

I think the raspberry would still pack a punch in black/white outfits, though it may be slightly softer a punch than the red. If you look better in raspberry, I think you should do that

Thanks Diana! Yes, it is indeed the Tinley Road one, it got a lot of good reviews. It comes in four colors: raspberry, blue, mustard and black, as well as stripes.
Jjsloane, I see what you mean. I am currently thinking about ordering the pink one to see how it looks in person. The Gap one looks very nice, but I absolutely can not wear that color - anything warm or orange makes me look very sick.

I kinda was thinking what Anna said. I think I like the Raspberry better, but have concerns about the puffiness around the armpit area as well as the shoulders. I have triplicated my favorite ponte blazer by Olivia Moon (I have camel, cobalt and just found the kelly green at the Rack) and I love it. Washes (machine) well and nice weight, style and colors. I also have the Gap pink one. I think the Piperlime one looks heavier than the Gap one and a better shade of pink (I got mine for $18 or would not have done it) The red one just doesn't look like a nice.
I saw this one in store (not knit though) and it's gorgeous (of course different price range at the moment)

I like the raspberry too. It looks more sophisticated and sleek to me. (And I LOVE puffy sleeves.)

BTW, is that the tinley road blazer? I have been eyeing the cobalt blue one for quite a while... did not realize they came in more colors now!

Thank you ladies! Seems that the raspberry is a favorite for now. I would also prefer that the sleeves were not puffy, but it does not bother me too much.

I actually like the pink one better. It won't make quite as dramatic an impact as red but I think it is very fresh looking and would look exceptional with white, black, teal, purple, turquoise. You get the idea!

My final summer purchase will be a colored knit blazer, for my summer work formula of knit blazer+sleeveless woven top + jeans. I have pretty much narrowed it down to these two - red from Charlotte Russe and raspberry from Piperlime. I am looking for a fairly inexpensive one, the first one is $37 and the second one is pricier, but would be $39 after some reward cards I have. I just can not make up my mind, because there are so many factors at play:
1. The raspberry one is probably better made, as it is lined and ponte. The red one is not lined, thinner jersey. The thickness might be important in the summer heat. Quality and comfort seem to point in opposite directions here.
2. I would really love to wear this blazer with a lot of black/white combos. Red would perfect. Would the raspberry one add a similar pop of color or not really?
3. I can wear true red no problem, but raspberry wold still be more flattering on me.

Thoughts?
