It is glam, gorgeous, stylish,etc and it does look great with the fur.<br /> I suppose if you have use for both dresses then keep them both. Both do look lovely on you. I might be a little old fashioned but given the function is for his work, I would probably be inclined to go with something you both like. He didn't seem very excited about it, just neutral. Then I came out wearing the red dress with faux fur jacket and leopard heels. He thought the red dress was OK. He said he could tell I liked the red dress much more because I seemed brighter and happier and walked in a different way (sexier, more confident) when I was wearing the red one compared to the lace dress. So he said he wouldn't mind if I wore the red dress by itself. And he did say I looked good in both dresses. But he HATED the fur. I mean LOATHED. He called it "that muskrat you're wearing" and said that it looked cheap and that the only people who wear fake furs are tramps who walk the streets or middle aged cougars (he actually said something worse but I won't repeat the phrase) with no style. Ouch! Then he said, how do you know it's really fake fur and not dog fur from China that they're passing off as fake fur? (I did check the label and it says "82% modacrylic and 18% polyester"). And then the worst part was he said, "When you were walking down the hall with your fur and your leopard heels I thought you had turned into your mom." Ugghhh, he really knows how to press my buttons! </p> <p>What do I do? If I keep the fur jacket I know it's going to be a sore point between us and he's going to tease me mercilessly every time I wear it (he already said he's going to give it a pet nickname like "Sheba"). On the other hand, should I really let him dictate what I can and can't wear? That is how I got into that rut of not buying clothes for five years because I would always ask his opinion and our styles were so different I always ended up returning everything because he didn't like it. And one of my old favorite skirts (the black, red and white swirly one) he's always hated but everyone else loves on me. But now it's different, I am more sure of my style and confident in my tastes (and I have you guys to back me up so I know I'm not just being crazy!) so I'm willing to stand up for myself more. </p> <p>He knows I'm probably going to keep it and sighed and says that I always do whatever I want despite his opinions. I guess I probably will wear the lace dress and black jacket this weekend since it's "his" party. But should I dig in my (leopard) heels and keep the red dress and fur jacket? I really feel like they go together and are so "me". But I really hate being told I'm turning into my mother! Plus we had another fight about how much time I'm spending on here and how weird it is that I'm taking so many pictures of myself and posting them on the internet. The red dress works great with the fur jacket. No need to worry about the red dress's neckline or side view! The lace dress might work better with your other suggested topper (black ruffle trench). The fur and lace textures are fighting a little to my eye, but then again I am liking thing simple these days. The red dress is more dramatic. The lace dress looks more timeless, so you might wear it longer.</p> <p>I can't get over how fab the red dress looks with the fur topper though. So I'd pick that one just for that reason.
