I have a pair of "all weather" metallic gray boots. They're a little gearish, but I find they soften my black items and are wonderful with the dark purples, teals and reds I like in the winter. They are a color you don't have and could be the flat black riding boot hole alternative, since the soles are nice and dark and they are still neutral.
