I'm not sure if they are what you're looking for, but I've liked both of these bras for their low profile in summer. They are both cotton.

I second the Gap bralette recommendation. I have a short torso and they never roll up on me. I wear them daily with my loungewear, or with certain summer clothes. They've also held up under that heavy wear very well.

Thanks for thinking of me, FI. That looks like a great option to try with racerback tops, but I don't have any of those in my wardrobe.

I haven't checked these out too closely, but Knix has a good variety of shades (comparatively) with their bralettes. I personally hope their padded enough to be modest (on me) though!

Don’t mean to drive you crazy with too many suggestions, but just came across what I think might be the one. It’s not on a US site, but it’s a brand that’s *probably* available in the NW USA. https://en.zalando.de/patagoni.....1-m11.html

Zaeobi one of the things that I appreciate about that Skims bralette I linked is that it comes in many different skin-tone shades. I wonder if looking for a bra that matches your nips rather than your skin would help with the issue you describe?

I’ve been sleeping in this Gap bralette (seamless racer back bralette) for years. So it is very comfortable, and I love the minimalist vibe. Obviously there is no separation (“mono boob”) but I still love it. I’ve also had some luck with Aerie bralettes, which are adorable but may be a bit extra for you if you prefer something sleek

Try Genie bra. They're so inexpensive you could literally cut off the bottom band if you find it rolling with very little risk.

They come with removable foam pads. Also they run small. Like, very small. (Beware, lots of knock-offs out there and I have no idea if they run as small as the "real" Genie.)

Thanks for getting back to me on that lol. I'm also a wide-set shape, small enough that I can get away with going braless (if only it weren't for my nips lol) so I'll be following this with interest.

I think for me it's not just the shape of my nips that's the issue but also the colour that shows through most 'summer coloured' tops - tmi haha! My solution so far has been to wear busy printed t-shirts for lounge-casualwear, sometimes with a light scarf on top. My husband still comments on my 'headlights' but he's the type to wear baggy cargo shorts 24/7, so this is just my way of prioritising comfort too

Thanks for these suggestions, cat2, Angie, and notsaf! And FI, very good point that fabric technology has advanced a lot in recent years.

La Ped, thanks for that detailed review of the Branwyn bralette. You’re opening my mind to branch out a bit in terms of styles. And I am going to try to channel your attitude about shopping for underpinnings! Ooh, bra shopping makes me so cranky. But really that’s a lot of wasted energy!!

Anyway, I just ordered this to try:
https://www.nordstrom.com/s/sk.....or=CYPRESS

Talk about no stone unturned! I’ll be thrilled if it works out, but if not I’ve now got some other possibilities to try as well, thanks to this thread. Plus, my browser and social media sites will be serving up underwear ads aplenty for the foreseeable future, haha.

Just popping in to refer you to the similar thread I start a few weeks ago: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....mendations. I have a relatively long ribcage, so like a longline bra myself (and have had good luck recently with "plunge" styles from Lively) but there are many other suggestions there that might be useful for you, Sarah! Good luck!

FWIW, I have a wide-set shape as well, with a tendency to point outward to the sides instead of forward. My favorite bralette shape is a deep-V, sort of a compromise between a bandeau and a true triangle style. I've noticed more companies, like True & Co, describing these deep-V styles as "triangle" which is a little misleading as I think of triangle as being much lower-coverage. I sometimes have trouble with elastic bands rolling up when they're made of a separate piece of elastic sewn onto the bottom, but not as much trouble with styles that are single-piece construction. My fav is this merino one from Branwyn. It's the only style I currently own that I've bothered to duplicate (black and nude). They describe it as having a 2" wide band, but it doesn't really feel like a band at all because it's all the same knit.

I'll admit I kind of love underpinnings shopping, along with gear shopping. Anything I know I'll wear everyday is very satisfying. If I have a nemesis category, it's dressy shoes. ;)

Hanky Panky Signature Lace Triangle bralette? They are $$ but the Hanky Panky lace is surprisingly comfortable. And the pieces last forever. I am wide set as well and like this brand for other, more robust, pieces like bras.

This past winter, I bought underthings for the first time in ages. I don’t think Polyamide was a thing the last time I bought any, but it’s everywhere now. I was very hesitant at first, because I expected it to be scratchy or to make me itch in the sweaty way that polyester (old school, not technical fabrics) can. I’ve been happily surprised that it is really comfortable to wear. You might want to try a lacier one that’s made of polyamide, just to test it out.

cat2 I've heard surprisingly good things about Aerie too. I see one model that might work but it's lace and I'm not sure how that would feel in the heat -- or work under knit tops.

FI, yes, that's a good point that one bra might not work with all tops. Really my summer tops wardrobe is so small though, and so consistently cut/shaped, that something that works with a few things really ought to work with the vast majority of them! I think I feel about bras the way Angie feels about gear. I really derive no pleasure from lingerie, I'd rather just find the simplest possible thing that functions well and move on -- I've got other things to spend my money on.

FI you’re exactly right — finding something with ALL of the required qualities is often really tough. What I buy needs to be better than what I already have though, so I’m being picky. That keyhole bra looks promising, although I share your query about how it would do day to day. Since I won’t be wearing this super often I also want it to be versatile and work under most any top — dang, I just added another requirement!

Zaeobi, I think my nips are just not super prominent? If I’m wearing something that holds me in just a little bit they usually stay under control. I may also be more lackadaisical about modesty than you are (and I think I live in a culture setting that prioritizes this less than where you are). If I’ve made a modicum of effort but somebody can maybe still make out my nips if they squint, well...that’s on them, haha. I hope you get some relief from the heat!

Sorry if this is asking for TMI but I'm intrigued - how does the triangular shape to conceal your 'headlights'?

The wide-set thing doesn’t sound weird at all—I’m like that too. Also not terribly surprised about FP, because I’ve had their brami on the back of my mind for a long time; this seems like a shorter version. From reviews of the brami, I think it’s quality varies from one lot/color way to the next. Here’s an HDI bralette that’s a triangle and front close—but it has keyholes that might get weird day to day https://honeydewintimates.com/.....2525230189
Idk if/how this one fastens—they just say it has an x back https://honeydewintimates.com/.....9360442892
So many that are so close but not quite—a lot like my own search for something for that dress. Grrrrrrr. This one might work except the straps are a little wider than you want https://honeydewintimates.com/.....5286641676
Another possible supplier: Pour Moi
This one’s pull-on, with skinny straps and no wires. https://www.pourmoi.co.uk/prod.....-bralette/

This one says it’s front close, but I don’t see how that’s possible. The company is usually good at replying to emails. https://www.pourmoi.co.uk/prod.....leid=74225

Thanks, kkards. That looks comfy. My ridiculously short torso demands something about 3-4 inches shorter, alas.

La Ped, that is a great set of leads, thanks! Looking around, it seems like the real bottleneck is finding the narrow band. I wonder if designers use wider bands to provide more structure/support in those minimal styles. That said, the Only Hearts wrap looks very promising. And I’ve just realized that I can get a pretty healthy discount on the Icebreaker so it might be worth trying...

Janet, thanks! True and Co does look like their bras would be comfortable. They seem to define triangle differently than I do, but now I’m wondering if a better fit would mitigate the monoboob effect even in a style with more front coverage. Hmm.

Fashintern, thanks! Intimmissimi has some really nice styles. I couldn’t find any pullover styles on the US site though. I think the Honeydew has less cup separation than I need. I suspect my breasts are rather widely set (?) and the bra needs to follow that in order to flatter.

This popped up in one search or another based on suggestions here and might be worth a try, though Free People is not exactly who I would normally associate with quality basic lingerie:

Check out the Intimissimi link in my post looking for a bra to go with that dress in Scooby-do colors. It goes to a blue one, but there are other, more subtle colors as well, if that’s what you want. The link is to the European site, but I think the wares are identical in their US stores.

ETA honeydew intimates have a couple that might work for you, including this one https://honeydewintimates.com/.....1802815597

I have zero experience with your fit requirements (I laugh when companies think they cover larger cup sizes but max out at DD), but I have a couple of True & Co “bralettes” similar to what kkards recommended. Mine of course are for a different fit, but they are super comfortable and were my go-to choice during all the months of pandemic home wear. I can even get away with wearing them in public, which is no small feat. Certainly not the levels of support I get from my usual bras, but acceptable enough. They wash well too. So I’d definitely check out that brand —
They have a few styles.

Fellow small-busted/minimal support type here. Your criteria are very similar to mine! If you’re open to merino, it sounds like the Icebreaker Siren bralette would be great for you. (FWIW I’m incredibly itchy person who’s sensitive to animal fibers on most of my skin but I wear merino bras and undies year round with no issue.)

The Lively Seamless bralette might work for you too. A little fuller coverage in front. Not sure if they have any other pull-on styles.

For cotton options, you could look at Richer Poorer, Pact Organic, and Groceries Apparel. Haven’t tried any of those personally because I don’t reach for cotton very often. I do have one super minimalist cotton bralette from Only Hearts that might fit the bill. I think it’s called the Wrap Bralette. And I like my Arq bralette despite the wider straps. It’s my only wide-strapped option right now and it’s super comfy, might be too thick/hot for summer though (I’ve only had it for a few months).

I’m on my phone and too lazy to pull up links, but I hope that gives you some ideas!

I’m putting this out there even though it doesn’t meet all your requirements, but might be worth trying...the padding is removable. It’s a pullover but the straps are wider than that you’ve requested

For the last several years I've been very happy with my winter underpinnings situation: a Uniqlo heattech camisole or longsleeve, no bra. I'm very small busted and find that this arrangement provides just the right amount of smoothing, support, and comfort.

The problem is summer. I've tried Uniqlo's Airism camisoles but it turns out that I do not like fabric clinging to my stomach in warm temperatures -- even fabric that purports to be designed for cooling.

Thus, I'm searching for a bralette that I can wear when it's too warm for my camisoles. Here are the MUST HAVE characteristics:

*Pullover style. No back hook closures -- too uncomfortable in the heat. I might consider a minimal front hook arrangement if the other qualities were right.

*Narrow (in vertical height) band -- no more than 3/4 inch. Any wider and it will roll uncomfortably on my short torso. Needs to end just under the bust, too -- no longline styles.

*Minimal construction -- I don't want underwire, padding, etc.

*Narrow/spaghetti straps -- I don't need a sports bra type thing.

*Triangle-shaped cups -- My "placeholder" bralette is shown in the pictures below. It has most of the right qualities, but the lack of separation between the cups gives me a monoboob effect. The result is appropriate (it smooths my shape a bit and hides the nips) and comfortable enough for me to wear it grudgingly when the weather demands (this is as good as it gets with me and bras, haha). But I'd love to find something more flattering.

Has anyone seen something that ticks all these boxes available in the US? I have a small frame so can consider tween/teen styles as well as women's. Thanks in advance for any leads!
