Time is an issue for consignment shopping and being in Canada limits online options somewhat.</p> <p>Suz - yes, I think that's what I need to do. &nbsp;Let's see. Things that made this bag perfect for me:</p> <ul> <li>Shoulder strap&nbsp;depth shape&nbsp;of short straps - I could wear the bag on my shoulder and the straps&nbsp;didn't fall off or dig in. &nbsp;I do not do totes or other handheld bags at all.</li> <li>Cross-body strap of sufficient width - a necessity.</li> <li>Muted, understated&nbsp;gold hardware that added a bit of spark without being gaudy.</li> <li>Goes-with-everything-I-own colour. &nbsp;I don't need black for this, necessarily, &nbsp;but it's the easiest option. &nbsp;Oxblood, deep bitter chocolate, and probably a few other colours (ink blue? mustard? cobalt?)&nbsp;might also work.</li> <li>Size - big enough to carry everything I need for a day out, including water, diapers, snacks. &nbsp;Not so big it overwhelmed me.</li> <li>Shape - half structured, half slouchy. &nbsp;I like my bags to have a bit of both. &nbsp;I don't like stiff bags - the Roots one, cool as it is, wouldn't work for me because of that.</li> <li>Top zipper - also a necessity - none of this magnet-snap or open-top business.</li> <li>Some kind of edgy but understated touch - the tassles and exposed zippers provided this. &nbsp;I don't want bling, just a touch of zest.</li> </ul> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/help-me-find-a-new-handbag#post-995170 Wed, 31 Jul 2013 13:43:20 +0000 Suz 995170@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I would isolate the elements of the bag that made it work so well for you. Is it handle depth (I know that can be a biggie for me -- it has to go onto the shoulder). Is it pockets? Capacity? Shape? Size?
