I like the look of them, but it's hard to imagine stashing a diaper in them! Maybe I do need something bigger - anything structured isn't going to cram as full as my current bag. Hadn't thought about that. I think I'm going to have to compromise on the style too - I like saddle bag type purses, or anything with lots of buckles. But I need to pull out kleenex and mittens and wipes at a moment's notice at any given time, so I need easy access. My coat is a dark red - it's last year's Lands End Luxe Down coat.

I, too, am looking for a new everyday bag, so I'll be watching this post. I love the Danier bags, especially #2.

Macys carries a brand called Giani Bernini that I've been eyeing. They are mid-price and look nice, although the last one I had (deep blue) faded over the course of a year. So I think an easy-to-polish shade (like black) is the best choice in that brand. Here are photos of a few styles.

I'm not sure of the exact red or orange of your coat, or how much of a contrast lover you are, but I have a dark teal bag in an unembellished, sturdy messenger style that I love with my tomato red pea coat, and most other fall/winter things. It does not look so hot with my medium greyish blue trenchcoat however, and I had another favourite that I carried most of the summer - but I am loving it this season. It is from a local-to-me (Toronto) company but they don't have any similar ones pictured online.

I don't have a specific suggestion but I think a nice medium sized cross-body leather purse in black would be great for everyday, and match your new style.

Actually I do have a few. Danier leather has some sales going on purses:

http://www.danier.com/leather-.....colour=950|666666&mc=yes

Grey would work well too:

I have been slowing upping my style and I need a new purse. My current one doesn't match my new coat. I'm a SAHM but am a minimalist so it doesn't need to be huge. It needs to be cross body and durable. Any suggestions?

Here is me in my coat with my current purse. A little bigger might be nice, but not significantly bigger.
