The dress and shoes are lovely together. I also like the idea of a shawl or some sort of pashmina. Have a wonderful time!

The shoes look great with the dress and I'm thinking that you and your sister must be the same shoe size? You might wear them at home for a few hours to be sure that the straps or the pointy toes don't bother you.

Because the dress has a high neck and straight shoulders I don't think you have to have a cover. If it's going to be chilly, or you'd feel better having something, I think a cardigan might be too little girl with this style of dress so shawl would be a great choice.

I don't really think you need to accessorize much with so much detail in the dress and shoes? I guess you'll have a bag?

Yes to the dress (beautiful). Yes to the shoes. Yes to the Nick & Zoe sweater that Joy mentioned in her post. I have a few of these sweaters and they are very versatile, and can be worn 4 ways!

I think a sheer shawl is the answer. And if you can't find one you like, think about going to a fabric store and just buying a length of fabric. If it is a knit (maybe a fun metallic that coordinates with the shoes), the ends won't ravel and you could just cut it to length. If you find a woven, you would probably want to hem the ends - that outfit is too pretty to distract from with ragged ends. Just make sure the selvedge (the long finished side edge that aren't cut) look nice don't have any printing on them.

You will look lovely!

Lovely dress! I think it will go well with the shoes. And I love the idea of the Joy Prom!

As for a cover-up, I have a couple of cardigans like the one Joy posted, and they are great. They are very lightweight and don't seem to distract from an outfit. Although it would be nice to let the dress shine on its own, the venue might be chilly, and such a topper might be nice to have on hand. Although I must say that Viva's idea of a sheer shawl might be even less distracting than the cardigan.

Thank you ladies! Besides Angie the members are the #2 reason I love YLF. I like the idea if a fancy shrug. My arms aren't as toned and I would like them to be at this point and I'm cold natured.

Ok, first, Joy Prom sounds hella cool. Second, the dress and shoes are beautiful. Third, from my closet I'd wear one of my coats with furry white trim.

The dress and shoes are so beautiful and will look wonderful together. I might suggest a lightweight sheer shawl that you can choose to wear if you are chilly but can also leave draped over chair if you are not -- in champagne, or ivory, or shell pink. Such a gorgeous outfit!!!!

Question #1: Yay, they coordinate really well!
Question #2: I wouldn't wear anything actually to cover your shoulders indoors. I'd let the dress shine. And if I had that pretty dress and my pick of any accessory, I'd add substantial gold chandelier earrings. And maybe a gold cocktail ring with some faux diamond action going on.

Yes to the shoes with the dress if you are comfortable wearing them.
If you really need a topper for the dress, the one below from Nordstrom's is available in a color called 'sandshell' and can be worn open. It would be my first choice or something like it.

I love his dress and bought it at an outlet (buy 1 dress get 2 free) to wear to the Joy Prom. Joy Prom is a special night out for people with disabilities. My sister gifted me the shoes because the heel was too high for her.

Question number one yay or nay on the shoes with this dress?.
Question number two what should I wear to cover my shoulders and to otherwise accessorize. Pictures & YLF Finds are welcomed & solicitated.
