Thanks for the kind words, Angie. It has been a bit of adventure, as my surgery took place in Europe and I had to get back to the States post-op. So far, so good. (Except for missing the meet up....)

Marmee- thanks for the head's up about the Velcro impacting the non-booted pant leg. One of my favorite pairs of skinnies is wax coated and I suspect they could be particularly vulnerable to this. I would not have thought of it.

Rachylou- thanks for the info that straight legs work. They would offer a comfortable alternative. I will also search the posts of Kellygirl, Mo, Karie and Lisa. I remember some good looks and that will spur me forward.

Thanks for the helpful ideas. I think there will be some laughs as I try to assemble ways to be casual and look put together.

I missed Lisa's and Mo's medical boot wardrobe, but saw Kellygirl's - and her examples are great. Skinnies under the boot, if that's doable, works. My bf did that (well, with straight legs - he's not emo), and it looked right not odd.

Oh! And I see Marmee did that...

I wore skinnies under my boot mostly. Unfortunately, the velcro on the boot caused some minor distressing on the inside calf area on the other pant leg. I'm not sure if it just happened to be because of my muscular calves, and I was in the boot for 12 weeks, or if others have this experience, too.

Oh, you poor thing. I am sorry to hear about your broken foot, Eliza. (((HUGS))).

I hope Kellygirl, Karie, Lisa and Mo will chime in because they did remarkably well with looking fab in the dreaded boot. They will no doubt have much better advice than me.

Hang in there, and hope you're getting lots of extra TLC. xo

I recently had unexpected foot surgery and have to wear the typical heavy, very wide black boot that goes almost up to my knee for a couple of months. I know that others here have navigated similar inconvenience, so I thought I'd ask what works for a pants wearer in a colder early spring climate. I have one pair of boot cut denim jeans that I can wear over the boot. Does it work to wear skinnies or straight legs under it? I have some straights that probably have enough fluidity to allow them to be bunched/rolled above the boot, but I fear the result. Since I am non-weight bearing for 4 more weeks and remain uncomfortable enough to find most closet experimentation a non-starter, all words of wisdom are appreciated. I am lounging in my wide leg casual pants now, but look forward to getting out later. Thanks for any and all suggestions.
