Great suggestions from the other ladies, Ellis. You could also try nude or black micro fishnets with the boots.

Thanks everyone!
What about leg wear? I thought maybe black tights would look too drastic against the cognac boots…. what about tights in the color of the dress, maybe with pattern?

Your dress has great texture. To wear it smart casual you may want to layer under or over it to fill in the neckline more. A scarf (not wool if that would be too warm indoors) with a simple design like stripes that includes a color similar to your boots, black semi- opaque tights and your boots may work.

The dress is beautiful! If the lace type detail is as obvious as in the photo, I'm not sure I'd accessorize much at all. Maybe hair up with some dangly earrings and your boots. The neckline looks scalloped, so doesn't need a necklace, although a simple long one might work. Experiment and post pics!

Hi everyone,

I just bought this sweater dress and am hoping for some help in accessorizing it. It has a lot of lacey detail and I can't decide what to wear with it for a smart-casual work look… do I keep it simple? What color hose? Or leggings? Structured or plain? Boots or shoes? Scarf? Jewelry? Hairstyle?

I am a natural redhead with dark eyes and long hair, my coloring is similar to the picture below (although I am not as young and gorgeous!). I have mid-calf length boots almost the same color as my hair that I thought might work. I live in a cold climate so ballerinas etc. are out of the question right now. The dress is relatively warm.

Also interested in advice for wearing this in a dressy way.
