Hi Kathy Jo-

If you're having that gap in the back, you might want to look at curvy-style jeans.

I've had great success with size 18 jeans by ordering online. Gap sells up to 20 online -- their Long and Leans are a great cut, and I think you can buy them in tall too.

Also, check out the Ann Taylor Factory outlet in Pleasant Prairie (Kenosha) WI. They go up to 18, and it's a generous one at that. I don't know if they have tall, too...I usually get my hems taken out from them because I like to wear heels (I'm 5'7".)

Hmmm...I actually have a bunch of 18s curvy jeans in my donation box. (I recently lost 45 pounds and am down to a 12 now.) We could swap, if you are interested! I am in the north suburbs of Chicago too. Let me know and we can exchange emails.

Hi KathyJo, you could also try this website:
http://blog.searchbyinseam.com/

You can search by inseam and price. You could of course always search within all price ranges and then see if you could get those jeans on sale somewhere.

Hi KathyJo..have you tried avenue? The site is http://www.avenue.com. They also have brick and mortar stores and you may find one in your area. I have had good luck with their 'denim lite' jeans. They also have 'tall' sizes though I dont know what the inseam length for tall is. Their regular fits me perfectly for 2 1/2 inch heels and I am 5'4". Their sizes run towards the large but the denim is soft and light not comparable to premium denim but good quality for the price. And they are in the reasonable price range( @30-50 $) and the prices are even better when they have sales. I own a couple of dark wash denim trousers in black and blue from there and those are holding up really well

I know Lane Bryant has jeans in tall, but the inseam at 351/2" didn't seem that long to me for someone who is almost 6' tall. If you don't wear heels, maybe that would work fine, though. They also have jeans fit according to body type so they might work for your curvy figure.

Remember, if you find a pair that fit you great everywhere but are too large in the waist, a tailor can take them in. I don't know how much it costs, but it could turn a pair of inexpensive jeans too big at the waist into the perfect ones for you.

I recently had success at Macys, too, and I know they had tall jeans in the women's department.

I'm bumping this for you KathyJo. Hopefully someone who lives in your part of town will see it and be able to help with finding some jeans for you.
Have you done any online shopping? It seems like there would be more options for you that way. How about the PZI jeans advertized on this page?
What is your budget for a pair of jeans?
Have you seen the discussions here on having the waistband of jeans altered if you are curvey and the band stands out in back? That seems to be a fact of life for some of you lucky curvey gals.

HI--- I am 5'11" tall and I wear a size 18. I have a smaller waist than hips so almost every pair of jeans that I try on stands out in back so I have to wear a belt. It's also difficult to find a pair long enough. The Tall Girl shop in my area is a little out of my budget. I live in the NW Chicago Suburbs and would some help in finding great jeans at a local store.
Thank you!
