If you are looking for a very leggy look, what about trouser jeans? Ones that fit at your waist and hip, but flow into wider legs from there? You need to wear them long, long enough that they pretty much cover your shoes. I wear them with shoes with a heel or platform (wedges for stability running after kids in my case....). They make your legs look very long, the longest of any of the jean shapes, in my opinion.

I am feeling a similar frustration right now. I can't seem to find that "perfect" pair of jeans. I think part of my problem is that I just don't have the time right now to spend hours trying on jeans (I'm a SAHM of four and DH works full-time and is in an MBA program). My problem is that I have a flatter butt, mom-of-four tummy, and curvy thighs. :/ I found this blog today, and I'm going to use some of the suggestions for my body type and go in that direction for starters.

http://www.denimblog.com/c/a/t.....atter-each

I do like levi's demi curve & perfect waist jeans right now, but I'm sure there must be something better out there for me. Good luck in your search. I'm sure you can wear jeans and look great in them. It's just a matter of finding what works for you.

I think anyone can wear jeans, but as you say, it's a matter of finding the "right" jeans. Be prepared to try on many!!! My suggestion is to go into a jeans store, rather than a department store, and have the shop assistants bring you as many options as possible. Try them all, stand back and observe carefully - try to get a more specific idea of what you like, and what you don't like. It's also a matter of what you want to wear with them. I'd also suggest wearing your preferred "jeans" top so that you get a better idea of the whole picture. Good luck!!

I have 10 inches between my waist and hips, then some extra thigh lower down too! And I actually think that dark wash skinnies with boots & flattering, colourful tops, scarves etc are one of my better looks. The Old Navy sweetheart fit works for me if you want to try something low-end. I do find dark washes are easiest, but lighter washes and colours are definitely doable when you get more comfortable. But I agree with ramya. Your proportions are normal and you will probably love jeans when you find the right pair and develop some formulas for wearning them that work for you.

Ahem a pear here too...

Talk about short legs... I think I am 28" at waist and 40" at bottom and my legs are for sure short :)

I wear straights skinnies and anything I wish.
It's just a mental block we have and once we overcome it everything works.

I swear by my Levi's curve id.
Also surprisingly most H&M pants work for me(Strange but true).

I suggest try a few pair. Post your pics for comments.

The forum is very helpful

My waist is 29 and my hips are 41, so comparable to your shape. I find straight cuts to work better for me, but I am not appley at all and prefer my jeans to slouch on my hip bones.

Sounds like you're a pear! Woo! Me too. My measurements are waist 32 and hips 43... so I get the disparity. I love LOFT or Ann Taylor "Curvy" styles for jeans or Levi's Supreme curve jeans.

Here are a few reviews I did on my blog (thepearshape.com) for both of those styles:
Ann Taylor: http://thepearshape.com/first-.....urvy-slim/
Levi's: http://thepearshape.com/quick-.....earshapes/

Hope that helps!

Anyone can wear jeans and look good in them (or so I am telling myself as I hunt down a pair). The trick is trying on lots and lots and lots.

I also think boot cut are quite flattering, if not of the moment, and straight legs as well. Skinnies would probably be best tucked into boots.

try straight leg and try on many many to find a pair that make you feel good. Bottoms are the hardest to fit.. You are definitely slim enough (from 38 I get) to rock jeans

I am your height but a size 42 and I wear straight legs

Welcom to the forum!! I have similar proportions to you, though I am 2 inches shorter. My legs are definitely shorter. While I'll never look like a long legged person, I do wear jeans a lot and don't think we can't wear them - I wear bootcut, straightleg and jeggings styles.
You could try tucking them in and wearing them with heels, for a start.
