Thanks for sharing in my find and all the great ideas. Vix, the picture in the tulip fields is perfect: we went last year and it is a damp and muddy, of gorgeous, spring outing! I love your colored scarf and top.

Lyn, we won't be in the minuses (Celsius), but we'll be in the 50s (Fahrenheit) through May, quite often. Good point!

AJ and Missvee: more good outfit ideas!

My skinny jeans are in the wash, but I'll try them with boots and see if they work. I also have a brown and white might be cute with a appropriately bright scarf or necklace.
After having no interest in one, now I'm wanting a denim pencil skirt....

Congrats on finding your perfect boots, Nadya. I love riding style boots, you' ll get so much use out of them. I completely understand that you want to start wearing your new darlings immediately.
How about pairing them with white or cream jeans or pants - like Angie did for this blog post? Definitely a look I would wear in our rainy Spring.

Congratulations on the new boots! It looks like you got a great deal!! Boots are tricky to find, so I'm jealous!

BBQ and don't wait! They are very nice boots and they will still be in style next year.
You will regret not buying them when the weather turns cold again.

Hi Nayda --

Congrats on the boot success!

As I live in the rainy PNW too plus have a struggle to find boots that zip up over my calves, I may be biased: I wear those suckers til it stops raining (aka July).

So I second AJ and MissVee's thoughts -- try to add in brights or lights somehow, but start breaking those boots in.

I've come to rely on printed tops, scarves, and dresses that mix "my" dark neutrals with more spring-like colors to help me transition to warmer weather. [Depending on their material, the same pieces will sometimes work as a bridge from summer to fall.]

Attached you'll find an early February scarf buy. Its cozy silk-velvet self has been in frequent rotation with deep grey and brown pals wools...now I'm digging out the lighter-weight tops in blush tones and lighter greys while keeping the bottoms *and* boots dark. I'll mix in lighter bottoms come late May or June.

Enjoy the new purchase -- and dry feet.

As long as the weather is cool, I don't see why you couldn't wear these well into Spring. Check out ChristyG's post from today - she's wearing tall black boots with a pretty black and white dress and jacket, and it looks great. I think as long as you add some transitional pieces, the boots will work just fine. Congratulations on your long awaited find!

I concur; if it has been a long search, I'd stuff them with tissue paper and store them away in their box for next year. :)

I wear boots like those until probably May - but then again, I live somewhere that you can get minus temperatures in April.

How about a dark base but add spring-y florals and one pop of color? Either tuck in skinny jeans or wear a skirt and tights/leggings.

I bought my cognac boots in late February in Florida! And then I sprained my ankle. lol. Didn't wear them for almost a year, but I love them and am so glad I bought them when I did. So, I'd say go for it if it's been a long search.

I feel like the dog who caught the car and now doesn't know what to do with it. After two or three years of looking for tall boots that fit my full calves, I finally found a pair thanks to a post on Wardrobe Oxygen. I bought these in dark brown, and they fit!
http://www.6pm.com/fitzwell-st.....ilian-calf

As we head into our rainy Pacific Northwest Spring, are there ways I can style these? Or are they just too wintry and I need to tuck them away for Fall? I appreciate any ideas or reality checks.
