Hi Marble --

Nothing much to add, but as one former lurker to another, glad you stepped out into the light!

Good luck with your refresh; looking forward to hearing (or even...seeing?) the results!

Thank you Cerinda, and if i work up the courage, i may post a wiw!

Rachylou--i dont know if id call it a wildcatd, but it is different! I normally do prefer a scoop, crew, boatneck but those styles at BR came with other things I wasnt crazy about like longer sleeves or a breast pocket, etc. So the V it is! I hope it works...

These are all good versatile choices. My one thought was that #1 is a very different neckline from the others... a v-neck. I was wondering if that's a wildcard for you, something different you're trying out?

Smittie - good question. I already have a couple of denim jackets, an olive cotton shell, and a rain coat that should get me through spring. I run warm so once summer hits i cant tolerate anything more than a tee + skirt/shorts/cropped pants.

BrieN- yes! I have everything in my cart, definitely taking advantage of sale. I just wanted some input first. Thanks for info. Regarding fit of cropped flares. I hope they work out for both of us! Oh, and i did size down but was debating between short and regular length.

I saw that a couple of your items are from Banana Republic which is currently 40% off (at least today it is) with the promo code.

I also ordered these jeans -- I've actually ordered them twice as the first time I thought the rise was too low. I have tried on dozens of pairs of pants in the last two months and these are still the best of the cropped flare bunch at my price point, so I reordered them. I purchased 3 pairs in different sizes and lengths.

The size smaller than my "normal lower size" fit well, if a little gap at the waist (which I'm considering ordering the next size down just to see if that might fix the waist without being too tight in the rest).

I think the sandals you picked out are great and I think will go well with both pairs of pants

Nice capsule! I think this is a great start with a small budget.
Do you think you'll need some sort of topper?

Thank you Sarah for the input! That is good to know about the stripe top. The summer are quite hot and humid so a heavy top will not work. I don't live close to a BR so I am trying to do this all online based off reviews and pictures and such.

Cute choices. I ordered my regular size and one size smaller (because Angie recommended to size Down) in the "short" length of the BR flares...not petite but "short". I'm 5'5". I haven't gotten them yet so I can't comment but seems like regular length should work for you. My store didn't have any of the flares....I guess they think I live in frumpville! Lol. If you haven't seen the BR striped top IRL, it's heavy. I felt it would be too hot for my lifestyle.

Hello Fabers! I having been mostly a lurker for about a year and a half, commenting every now and then. I love Angie's blog and it has been awesome to actually know what's current and trending (even if they are not trends I am participating in) after a few years of neglecting fashion and my personal style.
I have had every intention of getting my closet in shape but bad shopping habits, not exactly knowing which style direction I'd like to take, and a very small budget has always deterred me. My budget pretty much limits me to sales and thrift and despite the occasional gem, it has mostly led to a discordant closest of uncertain quality. I am determined to do better!!

My sweet husband did work out a little extra so I may refresh my spring and summer style...I have not pulled the trigger on any of this except the Gap vintage wash tees in grey and navy and a pair of broken in olive khakis also from the Gap.

These are the other items I am planning on buying (I took screen shots because I haven't fully worked out "finds" tool, yet). The cropped flares and striped top are straight up copies after seeing how fab Karen looked in them. I almost picked up her gorgeous strappy wedge, too, but decided the heel was too high for me.

I am 5'7" and a 1/2, so I am leaning towards the regular as opposed to petite cut on flares. For those that own these, which cut did you purchase?

Sorry this is so long. Honest feedback is welcome!!
