Secondly, I was considering throwing away all my old bootcuts but now I think I will keep them around Thirdly, that first outfit, with its combination of texture and pattern, is one I fell in love with! i`ll try to recreate this at home... The trouble I always have though, is that although I am somewhat short (only 5'4") I have almost disproportionately long legs for my height. So the hem often falls too high for me to wear these with anything but flats or sneakers. Has anyone had much success with un-hemming and lengthening jeans? I have a great pair of Joe's I'd like to do this to. Any tips would be appreciated! I'm always worried I won't be able to get rid of the crease from where the existing hem was. There was a period in the late '70s when earth tones were in, and those were the colors I looked and felt best in. Although Gucci is always quite dressy.  Gaylene, nothing wrong with repeating fashion moments from the past. Why not? They are updated and modernized in some way second time round. I don't like wearing bootcut jeans - they still feel off when I try them on. But I never stopped wearing dressy bootcut trousers. I love that style in a drapey wool fabric - just not in a stiff denim one. Also, Net a Porter is showing the "new" trouser silhouette like crazy so it's not long now till it hits mainstream.  Well I hope so anyway (see post re leggings and pants). Add dark hair, pulled back in a low ponytail, and take away the bag (Gucci was NOT in my budget!), and I'm seeing my double! And my university room-mate had a coat almost exactly like the one in the third picture that I borrowed regularly. I guess that officially means the late sixties and early seventies are back with a vengeance--but somehow I think it would feel too weird to go back there...
