I've had good luck with heel cushions made by Dr. Scholl's. The underside grips the insole and the top has a gel cushion that adds volume inside the shoe and massages your heel as you walk. I found mine at Target.

Did you happen to buy them at Nordstrom's. If so they will take them back (probably). If not I would still take them back with the socks you plan to wear them with and go to see the sock gals. They know more about socks and shoe pads than I ever imagined.
Do you mind telling us what brand and style they are? You might find a picture of them on zappos or another one of the shoe sites.
Good luck

I brought some black heels a year ago but only got to wear them a few times as they stretched and now slip off whenever I walk in them, (with or without tights)
I have tried shoe grips and shoe soles but nothing works:( Does anyone have any tips or suggestions I could try?
