No need to respond, friends! I found this wonderful older post https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....shortening which answered my question. Generally, the absolute most a heel can be lowered without destroying the shoe and/or your back is half an inch. xox

I can wear towering heels but my fussy feet and knees are happier with a slightly lower height. I know that one can take most shoes to a cobbler and have a bit shaved off the heel, but I assume it's not usually possible to go from, say, 3" to 1" in height. Is there a "standard" amount that can be removed, or does it vary wildly from shoe to shoe, please?

Eg. I'm looking at these gorgeous Cayannes, but the heel height has me concerned. How low would you estimate the heel could be taken? http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/pa.....en/3908783

Thanks for your thoughts! xo
