Thanks, Diana. I agree they look goofy. The only reason I'm willing to consider them is that the dress is long and the outdoor portion of the event is short. But the fact that they slide off is pretty problematic and a major strike against them. Don't want to trade one annoyance (aererating the lawn) for another.

My personal opinion is that they look really goofy and very inelegant. I would rather choose something like wedges, flats, or a large block heel.

Anyway, since I think they look ridiculous I have never tried them personally. However, I have heard from others who have used them and apparently the biggest problem is getting them to stay on the heels - it really depends on the exact size and shape of the heel. So if you do want to use them I would probably make sure to test them out ahead of time.

I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding next month and just received word that the dress will be delivered this week. So it's time to think about shoes! The ceremony will be outdoors, so wedges might be the most practical (but a quick search tells me the options in the size and color I need will be limited). Flats could work if I find some that are dressy enough. But I'm wondering if any of have tried heel guards on stilettos. Do they work? Do they scuff your shoes?
