PediFix Heel Hugs are the best I've found. They are quite substantial and can kind of crowd your foot out of a shoe if the shoes are pretty snug to begin with, but I think that's why they work as well as they do. Here's a link but I've never had to order them. I found them in a local compounding pharmacy that carries a lot of medical supplies.

Go for a cork 1/2 insole placed under the sock liner of your shoe it will push your foot back and make the heel of your shoe fit better. If you go to a good shoe store they should be able to help you with this.

I like the Pedag heel grips. They are suede, so are both soft and grippy. Like all these things, they work for shoes that need a minor adjustment. If you only need to stop them from slipping or you need a 1/2 size adjustment, then they will be perfect. Unfortunately, they won't make a full size adjustment (sadly, she says, looking at the one pair that they failed her on). They are definitely worth a little extra. I bought six sets from my cobbler the last time I was in for a shoe repair. You can also stick them to the top of a shoe like a ballet flat, just where your toe cleavage starts, to push your toes back a bit in the shoe and get a bit more size adjustment.

There are some typical heel grips that Payless sells. I read a tip to stick them instead just along and under the vamp opening on a pump and they will keep your feet in. I thought that worked great!

How long do heel grips last?as I was gonna go get a pair of nuova heel grips and just was wondering how long they would last me... because they are very cheap so are they throw away things? do they last just once or do they keep on working?

I can't give a brand suggestion but if you are using a heel grip, make sure it is leather.
I also prefer the pads in the front of the shoe rather than a heel grip.

i use the petals that go in ball of foot area. I have them in every shoe I own. Especially help with open toes shoes. They keep your foot from sliding forward

Yep, I've also had better look with the ball of foot pads. They also won't push your feet forward in your shoes like the heel grips do (that gap between heel and shoes makes me nuts).

Ah! Thanks, Jenava! I hadn't considered trying the pads for the ball of the foot yet.

(BTW, I keep trying to comment on your blog and I can't. I'm not sure what the deal is lately.)

I like the foot petals heel grips. They are narrower and "catch" on your heel to keep the shoe on. But, you have to have a bit of room in the toe (as with adding any heel grip) as it can shove your foot forward.

I also like to try the ball of foot pads...sometimes these work even better to keep your foot seated in the shoe. I use the foot petal brand of these, as well.

Has anyone found heel grips that actually do what they're supposed to do?

I bought the Dr. Scholl's heel grips someone once recommended but after a few wears they were too smooth to 'grip' anything and my feet slipped out of my shoes again. I keep looking in stores and online and nothing gets amazing reviews.

Any more suggestions?
