He is healing ok and in good spirits... It doesn't slow her down any. She has used the experience to mentor others, speak publicly and break down barriers while raising awareness of people with disabilities. In fact, I'm pretty sure that a lot of exciting opportunities have come her way because of this, and she has appreciated them. She's just spoken at a music festival and done a TEDx talk. She speaks of the amputation as a positive experience that has helped her become the person she is today. I went to Busch Gardens Christmas town with my family and prayed the entire night... On the way home I checked Facebook and saw the post that they had to remove his right leg below the knee... My heart aches for this man, whose parents have both died and whose sister is fighting cancer. &nbsp;He is an aspiring writer at heart, but has made his living bouncing at clubs in our resort section of the city... He just went through a divorce two years ago and was finally on the upswing... Too much info maybe, but just so much gone on for this gentle giant of a man... Somehow just posting it here made me feel better to get it out... Thanks YLF community...missing my best friend who is in Canada til Saturday and the one person I would call to talk to... </p>
