Thanks guys. Angie, I have it, just need to find it. I don't know why, but I'm losing a lot of stuff at the moment! Will have to turn my room out.

Anyway the sequel to this is that I rode my bike in today (much, much cooler weather) and FORGOT the sandals. So I'm sitting in my office barefeet!

Anne, I think 41C would be hot for anyone! We get that hot in summer occasionally. We often get to 100F (38C) in July and August. When it's that hot I do outdoor stuff early in the morning. Right now we're having a cold snap. Our usual winter low is 20F (-7C) but we got down to 12F (-11C).

I hope it cools off for you!

Jaileen is that hot or cold for you?

Thanks Bijou, yes the weather is looking much more bearable now, which is why I will ride my bike in tomorrow - and yes Inge, will wear socks for the trip.

And my office is almost deserted with the other 2 on my whole floor wearing tees and shorts on a level of casualness way surpassing, casual Friday, so I'll take in my comfy new sandals to wear.

I bought some bodyglide just a few weeks ago and now I can't find it...

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean, Anne. This has happened to me too, even in less hot weather than you are experiencing now. You probably don't even want to think about socks with temps like that, but if you are wearing closed shoes, would wearing very thin socks just for the commute work? (you could take them off again once you are at work or back at home.)
BodyGlide does help a lot for me to prevent blisters, not sure if it's available in Australia?

Hi Anne, as a fellow West Australian, I sympathise. I got blisters yesterday too!
I hope you had the opportunity to put your feet in a bath-tub of cool water - it really helps. Now we have blisters, it is best not to pop them, as this prevents the risk of infections. If you are like me, you have blisters on the soles of your feet, so the not popping is annoying for the first couple of days. Luckily the weather is due to cool down. I hope you have a great New Year.

Wow - super hot! Oh, I'm so sorry you got blisters. Yes, I've had that happen, especially when on vacation when it's hot, humid, and I'm on my feet all day. Taking the bus is a good idea when it's that hot.

We almost got above freezing today.

It is scorchingly hot here. Hit 41 yesterday and today was due to be 39. It was pretty hot already when I was walking to the bus around 7.30, possibly as high as 34.

I was wearing my very comfortable, worn in ziera shoes for the mile walk, and yet I have sore spots and blisters beginning in lots of spots on my feet. I have a feeling this would have happened with any footwear. I'll pay the extra busfare and just walk half the distance tonight.

Has this ever happened to you?
