These may not be very stylish but they really are easier on the back. DS bought a medium one for me several years ago in a microfiber fabric. I use it when travelling and need to carry more stuff.

If I had to wear a backpack, I'd get a cool leather one. LOL But cross-bodies work pretty well for me.

Ugh, this is always a problem for me as well. I usually carry a big tote, but I am aware that it's not good for me. An additional problem is that I have sloping shoulders so have a really hard time keeping things on them. I like messengers or cross-bodies but only when I'm not carrying my laptop along with everything else. To be honest, the only thing that has ever been comfortable for me when I'm carrying something heavy and/or large is my old and very unstylish Jansport backpack (I've had it for like 15 years!).

If doing a crossbody, I found they still have to be light and the strap wide enough (1-inch or more) to not cause should/neck discomfort. I have this one in blue and it was good for me (if I kept it light):

http://www.shoemall.com/produc.....=567418242

I have resorted to handheld bags - the kind that I can put up my forearm when I need both hands free. Not nearly as convenient, but healthier for me. I also keep them lightwieght - constant purging.

I'd imagine a cross-body bag would distribute the weight better. I am guilty of overloading a one-shoulder bag and then putting the strain on my back. I refuse to wear a backpack.

I saw my physio this morning and he said I have to (amongst other things) lighten the load in my handbag and be careful I only buy ones that are good for my shoulders from now on!!! (So no large totes hanging from my shoulders...)

So, what style of handbags are the best for posture and spine health etc? Preferably suitable for a MOTG?

Large cross body bag/satchel perhaps? Backpack? (I'm shuddering at this one, even though I just read they are apparently making a comeback...)

My favourite bag has started to show signs of wear, so I am going to be on the hunt for a new one soon-ish anyway, so may as well get one that will make me happy.

I'd really love some suggestions!! And pictures too please :)

Thanks so much!
