				<description>&#060;p&#062;I have a few health challenges right now. There's being anemic, which should be fixed by an infusion in a few weeks, and then I recently tested positive to being coeliac, (a likely cause of the anemia) I am having further tests to confirm this, and am supposed to keep eating gluten for now&#038;nbsp; - which I regret I&#038;nbsp;am taking&#038;nbsp; as license to eat things I might now be able to afterwards! (For example I have never tried churros, but was curious whenever I walked past a shop selling them - now I am thinking - only a month or so to ever taste them!)&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;And though I thought I had no symptoms of course now I examine every bit of indigestion or bloat and wonder!&#038;nbsp; And also with the anaemia I tend to&#038;nbsp;view&#038;nbsp;it as an excuse not to exercise as much.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;So my weight isn't where I'd like it. It is still at a healthy weight for my height, and I was thinking I didn't look any different, though the clothes are a little tighter. Then I saw my side view!

&#060;p&#062;Kimberley, what a challenge. I wish you a speedy recovery, and strength in all the little choices.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Exercise: I didn't do my core workouts, and bike-commuting was light.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Nutrition: I was better about packing bentos. Not every day, but almost. Having these on hand gives me a healthful option when I get hungry, and I include some &#034;junk&#034; as well. Also started making green smoothies again, and increased intake of flaxseed. Am trying to increase omega-3s intake, in hopes of reducing joint inflammation. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;On Wednesday, I'll go to farmer's market again to restock produce. Not going to make any exercise resolutions; it's probably more motivating for me to know I can report what I did. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;(I probably won't repeat the smoothie-in-bento experiment, but I was rushing and couldn't down the entire glass. It didn't spill much, surprisingly.)

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Good morning!&#038;nbsp; I am new to this thread, but thought I would let you know how glad I was to read it today...&#038;nbsp; Hearing your struggles and successes really helps!&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I&#038;nbsp;had surgery last Wed and I am supposed to be recuperating for the next four to six weeks.&#038;nbsp; Consequently I am deathly afraid of putting on the twenty pounds I spent the last eighteen months getting rid of!!!&#038;nbsp; I know that my mobility will increase daily, but right now I am only shuffling to the end of the block and back each day.&#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;The prospect of doing anything more strenuous seems far, far away which&#038;nbsp;makes me vulnerable to leftover Halloween candy and all the treats&#038;nbsp;I have been getting&#038;nbsp;in &#034;get well&#034; baskets.&#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;Perhaps being aware of my vulnerability will help me avoid falling into the trap?&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My goals for this week&#038;nbsp;are pretty simple:&#038;nbsp; eat healthy/avoid nutritionally empty stuff, get adequate rest and plenty of water, walk as much as physically possible.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I kept the promise to keep my food diary with diligence. &#038;nbsp;I've knocked off two of the pounds I gained back in the last few weeks. &#038;nbsp;I'm going to keep at it. I am eating healthier now that I'm almost back into my regular routine.&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Still have some of that left-over Halloween but I am rationing it to DH and myself. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;The physical therapist has asked for four more sessions. &#038;nbsp;I'm making slow progress. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;After someone on the gray hair thread mentioned Vitamin D and hair color I did some online research and decided that it would be a good idea for me to take extra D3 in a supplement, at least during the next three months. &#038;nbsp;Not for hair color, but because D apparently acts like a hormone and affects many conditions, including low thyroid, SAD, and female hormones. &#038;nbsp;Also, as a person gets older they need more D--we absorb less through the skin and tend to stay&#038;nbsp;indoors more. &#038;nbsp;Apparently most people have no problems with the dose I am taking. &#038;nbsp;Will report back--I've only taken it 3 days. &#038;nbsp;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I'm doing well at exercising consistently, and have been consistent too at taking fish oil and a multivitamin. &#038;nbsp;I discovered though that I tend toward sugary snacks when I'm tired. &#038;nbsp;So I'm goal for this week is to 1) get enough sleep (hard for me since most days my husband and I are not both home together for a whole 8 hours) and 2) work toward training my brain what an appropriate wake-me-up snack is (apples? &#038;nbsp;carrots?) and eat that instead of my kids Halloween candy.&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I had a bummer moment when I'd run 3 miles, done 45 push ups and hit my 10,000 steps, ate pretty well, and was still up a pound the next morning. &#038;nbsp;So . . . I am still doing my push ups, still running, and thinking about spacing meals apart to affect my insulin levels and fat burning. &#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;Anyway, I still aim to run every 3rd day, push ups every other, bike and walk randomly. &#038;nbsp;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I am super thrilled because I am back at boot camp class this week and hanging in there reasonably well.&#038;nbsp; I went to two sessions this week as well as two trainer sessions.&#038;nbsp; I think I will increase to three boot camps and two trainer sessions for the coming week.&#038;nbsp; Yay!&#038;nbsp; MaryK is back!!&#038;nbsp; The amazing thing is that rather than making the lingering post-op pain worse, it is making it much much better.&#038;nbsp; That has been a great surprise!&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Food is &#034;eh.&#034;&#038;nbsp; Weight is stable, if a pound or two above where I'd like it to be.&#038;nbsp; I'll take it.&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Lyn, the chocolate loaf does sound dangerous and much tastier than plain veggies.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;K, I find if I start eating the bad stuff, it is like opening a damn and I have trouble stopping.&#038;nbsp; I know some people are good at moderation, but I am not one of them.&#038;nbsp; :)&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Kim, I seem to have the same problem trying to put it all together in the same week. &#038;nbsp; &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I was doing well with diet last week but not quite as well with exercise.&#038;nbsp; I have been having wicked cravings for sugar for some time.&#038;nbsp; I attribute it to perimenopause (turned 51 this week).&#038;nbsp; I bought a natural progesterone cream as I read it can be quite effective at minimizing the peri symptoms and I seem to have much more control over my food and haven't been craving sugar much at all for a few weeks.&#038;nbsp; Yay.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I also bought a Livestrong elliptical trainer last week.&#038;nbsp; I am sure I have whined about how cold it is here in winter and it is starting to feel cold so I am more likely to get my exercise if I can do it at home.&#038;nbsp; I already had a good treadmill and a gym quality squat cage and weights so now I have it made.&#038;nbsp; LOL&#038;nbsp; It is going to take some time to build up because so far my quads are pooped in 5 minutes.&#038;nbsp; I plan to do as much as I can on the elliptical and then switch to the treadmill to finish my 50-60 minutes of cardio at least 5 days this week.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I have a goal!!&#060;br /&#062;&#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;Good luck with the goals everyone.

&#060;p&#062;I have about 10 vanity pounds I'd like to lose (and my bp has been high normal so losing it might give me the extra umph that I need to get back to normal levels).&#038;nbsp; &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm back at the gym for the winter season but went for a nice slow long run today in the rain.&#038;nbsp; Gotta get it in before it snows too much! (It was about 34 or 2, in Canada) &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'd recommend Jessica Smith TV (on youtube).&#038;nbsp; She has tons of free videos covering all kinds of workouts (strength, cardio, hiit, yoga, walking, etc.) She also has the cutest little French bulldog who puts in some appearances too...&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I find her motivating and cute, and I can keep up with her.&#038;nbsp; She has something for whatever mood strikes you.

&#060;p&#062;I would like to keep up with my varied workouts. &#038;nbsp;I did some long hilly walks this week and I want/need to keep this up.&#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I am a big kettlebell video fan. &#038;nbsp;You can pick up 7lb-er at Target or Marshall's. &#038;nbsp;I&#038;nbsp; find that the time just flies and it really works every muscle and gets heart rate up. &#038;nbsp;If you want specifics, please let me know. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;&#038;nbsp;I also like mat pilates videos on youtube---such a great core workout with stretching/ flexibility&#038;nbsp;bonus. &#038;nbsp;Learn from my mistake--don't start w/ Intermediate!!! :)&#060;/p&#062;

&#060;p&#062;I think the big thing I need to watch out for this week is candy at work. We started keeping a candy bag at the office and it's very tempting to grab a piece every time I walk by. The good news it now I recognize the problem, so fixing it shouldn't be too bad (I hope).&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
