I got my runs in this week, and most of yesterday I was lying around with a stomach bug. It's still very present today, so I'm sure I will fall a little behind this week, but sometimes a break is good. It's been a long time since I've had the stomach flu, and it sucks!

I did about as well as I expected to this week.

I took a cooler for our road trip packed with individual turkey meatloaves, baby carrots, apples, raisins, whole wheat tortillas, hummus, and dark chocolate. I ate from the cooler going to Louisiana and coming back. The only thing I bought was a package of salted peanuts. (My husband stopped at Popeye's fried chicken twice, and he also bought sodas and jerkey at gas stations.) I kept my water bottle filled up and only drank water on the road.

In Louisiana, I took a cardio class at my brother's gym one day and did some lunges, squats, planks, etc. in the hotel room another day.

I ate and drank with abandon otherwise, and enjoyed every minute! Back to healthier habits in the week ahead.

Here is the turkey meatloaf recipe I used. I added carrots and bell pepper.

Oh Laurinda, if only I like carrots! Instead I have been eating baking chocolate and last night we had fish and chips for tea (since we are without a functioning kitchen atm)
I went to physio today and got some stretches and was told to keep off the exercise for a few more days and then take it gently.

Hang in there, everybody!

I have been doing pretty well. Eating is reasonably under control and I made it to the gym six days last week and have been MTW this week and am planning to go to boot camp on Thanksgiving morning at 7:30. I did it last year and it was a fantastic way to start the day!

One thing I am noticing is that since I've been eating vegan, my stomach is ridiculously flat even though my weight hasn't changed all that much. Maybe it's the animal products that makes me bloat a little or something, but whatever it is I'm super happy with the flat tummy!

I am cooking tomorrow and taking a holiday from my healthy eating plan. Hopefully I will be right back on the wagon by the weekend!

Not having a good week here. Haven't exercised at all yet. My knee has a few twinges and I am a bit worried about my knee/leg/hip pain I get exercising and have made an apt with a physiotherapist for thurs. Not sure if resting before then is sookie or sensible!

And not going well with the eating. I thought that my brother's wedding would be an incentive but it hasn't worked out that way. I am trying to arrange details of my and my families' prep, trying to think out what I'll say in my speech, and also trying to empty my kitchen to have some work done on it yesterday. And I am a stress eater...:-

Ran outside today with the little one. DH is off now for a few days, so I hope to get some longer runs in without pushing the chariot. Decent weather this week for running outside...5-7 degrees C, so after the first 5 minutes it's pretty nice!

My mom and I are going to walk every day when I go home. I'm going to attempt watching what I eat on Thanksgiving day and try to balance that with eating better in the days leading up to and after Thanksgiving. Of course, that could end up with me watching the food get on my fork and go into my mouth. :)

I have noticed though that I feel like I'm fitting into my clothes better than I was before I started. I don't have scales in the house because I remember when they ruled my life years ago. I think, though, I'm going to start measuring my waist, hips and a thigh to see how things are changing. I figured I'll pick a few landmark on my body, like a mole or bellybutton, to make sure I'm consistently measuring in the same spot.

We're driving to see family in Louisiana, so I have a nine-hour car trip on Tuesday and then another nine-hour trip Friday. I'm going to try and stay as active as I can, but I'm not going to make myself crazy about it.

My sister-in-law is a fabulous cook, and Thanksgiving day will be all about happy excess. Too much wine, too much food. And I will love every minute of it. As Julia Child said, moderation in all things, including moderation!

Naz, I signed up for the Rock'n'roll Half too! Call me a glutton for repeat punishment.

Good start to the week, since I ran a 10k race yesterday morning. I was a full minute slower than the pace of the last one I ran back in May, but I took it easy and felt strong finishing. Then I had to go and ruin it all by having a big nasty burger last night! I was craving one since I hadn't eaten much earlier in the day.

Thanksgiving weekend shouldn't be a big caloric bomb for me since we're not hosting a big dinner this year. Stepson 1 is traveling, stepson 2 will be at his mom's, so it's just me and my husband and my niece, so we'll go out for a nice dinner. So there won't be tons of tempting leftovers for days like we usually have!

I don't even own a scale, so I only know my weight as an estimate based on my last doctor visit, but I think I might be up a couple of pounds based on trying on a couple of my pants the other day. So I'm going to be more careful in the weeks ahead. Because, yikes, I have to be seen in a swimsuit right after Christmas, since we're going to Hawaii! I'm a little scared to break out the bikinis...

Thanksgiving day is usually the day I splurge. Anyway, I'm trying to be good since I'm up a few pounds since I haven't been bicycling and my activity level has gone down a bit. I'm starting my training for my half marathon so plan of running about 4x this week and watching what I'm eating.

We're a month past Thanksgiving here so no yummy food fest for us this week. I will just continue on running this week, got them all in last week, and I'm slowing doing more time at higher speeds. So I just plan to do some higher speed intervals this week. Hopefully I can get my normal pace to feel easy....haha.

Well I'm not one to weigh myself too much but I hadn't done it in a while and was surprised to see that the final few baby pounds had come off, and I'm back to pre pregnancy weight of 117lbs. I don't know what I did differently, I guess they just felt like it was time :)

Good luck this week everyone, have fun!

I will be at a block party, so quite honestly, it's liquid calories I'll need to watch for. I will get the benefit of walking all day, so that's a plus.
Last week was par for the course with several runs, but I still struggled with strength moves. Did them a handful of times, but need to really work at better consistency there. I found I had to do knee push ups instead of regular military ones. Made me feel wimpy.
Good news: weighed in at 119 this morning. Same starting weight as 3 years ago when I first got my Fitbit.

Thanksgiving week in the US - how is everyone coping with the upcoming food fest?

I'll be helping cook dinner, so will have lots of lower-carb possibilities to fill up on: vegetables, low-sugar sweets etc. On this one day I allow myself a small taste of my unhealthy favorites.
