I've been doing okay - finally caved in and had wine last night, at least I slept a good solid six hours and I needed that as I haven't been sleeping well. Been eating at least one vegetarian meal each day. Last night was "healthy fast food" - juiced a carrot/pear/ginger juice and had a few flax seeded corn chips with homemade hummus. And wine. ;-).

Did weights on Monday and heading off to do them again. One 40 min. hike so far and plan on at least one or two more by the weekend.

I am walking again this week, and hit my lowest weight so far during this post-baby weight loss time. However, I've been eating too many coconut products and went right back up again. Baby steps.

Ugh, I've been struggling too. Even though I don't own a scale, I know my weight is probably up a couple of pounds from too much winter indulgence.

Even though I was quite active in TX on the ranch -- lots of walking, and a couple of runs in nearby parks and neighborhoods -- it's hard to eat healthy down there with a bunch of hungry men who are working manual labor all day and want burgers every night. We did go out for sushi a couple of times, but I'm not sure that helped my efforts either. Then, two days spent mostly in the car, eating fast food, during the drive home. Ugh.

I'm trying to once again get back on track. At least the puppy is a good excuse to get out for a run every day, even if it's only a mile or two. I took her on her first run yesterday, and it went pretty well. Slow, and a pit stop or two, but it got us both moving.

Now that the nicer weather is finally here, I've made an effort to get out of the house and be more active this whole year.

Yearly plans: upcoming 10-miler race, May NYC bike tour plus a 10k race, and signed up for a half marathon in Philly in November.

Weekly plans: I had a body assessment done at my gym including bmi (a little high) . My plan is to strength train 2x a week, along with taking classes cardio/trx/hiit classes and my usual runs. I really need to get this body back in shape because I was a bit lazy this winter and it caught up with me. (My body assessment was good: excellent upper body in terms of pushups and situps, but poor in flexibility. Hopefully that will change.)

Until next time.

I am determined to accept that my newly diagnosed degenerative disc situation (pain, tingling, weakness in both arms) is no joke and that denial and exercising like a lunatic are not helping.

My goal this week is to do some online stretching videos and to maintain disciplined eating.

I wish all of you success!

Am trying to fit in 3 runs this week - have done one so far and one weights session. The next run will start in about 45 minutes in my lunchbreak. My new aim is to break 25 mins on the treadmill for 5Km - I have done under 26 mins twice.

Foodwise I have been lax. I felt that my body was needing to eat more, in the pre-menstrual stage of the month, but I was also given some gluten free biscuits (cookies to most of you) and it has only been 6 days and I have eaten about 9 of them! So the weight is up a little. But I can still fit into everything.

Am determined to run today, no matter how slow, no matter how short. I can't take it anymore. Bringing plenty of water and kleenex and just going to do it. Then hopefully either Thurs or Fri I can do the 6 miler and then taper for a week and then race next Sat.

Gah. My goal for the week is not to continue eating like I'm on vacation, which is what I've been doing for the past month. Also skipping workouts like I'm on vacation. Argh. I've been running myself ragged, trying to do All The Things with my son while he's here, and the eating and the workouts have definitely suffered.

At least last week we did an excellent job of eating pretty much the entire contents of the veggie box. I made an amazingly delicious beet and citrus salad, and we ate organic carrot sticks all week, and DS ate all the apples, and I eat kale every day, so that was a big success. Hoping to duplicate that success this week. Also I did well at abstaining from alcohol last week (until the Two Mimosa Lunch with the YLF ladies yesterday! )

This week's goals:

Minimum two boot camp classes and two trainer sessions
Eat the contents of the veggie box

My week went pretty well. I did five (one-hour) barre classes and lost two pounds.
My triceps are very sore. I take classes from different instructors and the last three classes I took all had hard sets of tricep work.

My goal for next week is to take a minimum of four barre classes, make the daily dog walk longer and stick to my diet.

I have to admit to myself that, yes, I am sick. Been trying to deny it. No running since Monday I am going to lift at the gym in an hour with BF, and we lifted on Thursday. I have to rethink whether I can do my 10K in 2 weeks. I NEED to do a 6 mile run this week, or I won't enter the race. It's one thing to cough and hack while lifting. I can pause. Trying to run is another story. Bah humbug.
Am up a bit on the scale, and food has been so-so since my trip. Need some fresh produce in the house. Grocery trip this afternoon.
I'd love to say next week will be 2 or 3 runs, and yoga and weights. I'll take half of that for a start. Healthy would be nice, too.

Hi everyone. How was last week for you?

Mine went pretty well. I feel like my balance has been improving, which is great since I'm normally pretty klutzy. Has anyone tried anything from Enzymedica? I've head really good things about their Digest Spectrum, which is suppose to help with food intolerances.

My goals for this week are to include yoga in with my daily workout and to take a few more extra walks in the evening now that the weather is getting warmer.

What are your goals for the week?
