It's happened. I've become one of them. The pool was closed last night, so after waiting all day I missed out on my lap swim. I didn't really want to go, truth be told, but once I couldn't I felt kinda let down. So, I figured I'll do the laps today instead. But I just couldn't wait around a whole other day to do my workout. I had to get out there and run this morning. I'll also make up the laps tonight if the pool's open. I have a brick (bike/run) tomorrow and I don't run 2 days in a row as a rule, but I just had to do it. I've got the sickness. It's official.

One workout for the week done. Holy cow it's hot in Cleveland.

All, I'm glad to keep the thread going.

Run Carla, I think I need an invisible friend to challenge me at the gym. As much as I try to enlist my actual friends and family, I'm just not getting any takers.

gardenchick, your body will adjust to the extra work, keep the faith.

Mo, my summer kryptonite is gluten free beer around the campfire. Back on the horse is all we can do sometimes. Gotta have some fun.

Ms Maven, I hope you are feeling better real soon.

Lynn, great job incorporating fitness into your life. Fifteen seconds seems like a lot right now, but soon you'll be thinking easy peasy.

Alasse, I'm glad you are going in the direction you want. We all hit our little bumps in the road, don't let it discourage you.

Citygirl, Hang in there, it'll get easier as you go.

Hi all. It's been a while since I last posted. I've been strength training on my own (Rewired - 9 Week fitness Trainer on Bodybuilding.com) 5 - 6x a week with an occasional long run on a Saturdays. I know strength training is key to good bones, plus toning up areas that are slowly getting looser. This is my second week on the program and it's pretty tough but am handling it. I hope to see some kind of results in a fews weeks. Cross your fingers.

Thank you for taking charge, Shedev! We appreciate having this thread.

I hit a new low-so-far weight, then ate a bit much on the weekend, but overall I think I did pretty well.

Thank you so much Shedev for taking over! And good luck making your gym days.

Wow, Runcarla! Great job with your 25 km bike ride.

Good luck Laceleste. Just remember to be kind to yourself.

I hope your strength training works for you Gardenchick.

Yay for hitting a groove Mo!

Yes, 15 seconds is a long time! I don't know how people hold a plank for minutes at a time lyn*.

I hope you get feeling better soon Maven!

Still knocked out with a cold virus all last week and not yet 100%. I lost my appetite though, and continued to lose weight. In the last couple of days I've done a few crunches and stretches, but still not feeling strong, and didn't want to overdo.

By the end of this week I hope to be back to my regular self and regular routine.

Thanks for taking this over, Shedev -

I think it wasn't the best week for me, I stopped in at a McD x2 and had some chicken mcnuggets. I think it was mostly in reaction to something shitty at work, but gotta separate out those two!

Working out almost day this week, except for the overnight shift. I did find some time to stretch in my office though, except the consultant internal medicine resident thought I was a little odd when he barged in to look for a phone to use. :p

Getting better with my overall workout, although I'm incorporating some more stretching into my routine. Started to plank two weeks ago - holy crud, 15 seconds is a -verylongtime-

I'm still chugging along with my training schedule. Workouts up to 45 min to 1hr+ (except swimming) 6x a week. My one day off yesterday I crashed and burned head first into beer and bar food lol. Had a good time with the BF and an out of town friend, so it was totally worth it. Back on the horse (really the stationary bike) today for 50 min. Rinse, repeat. As usual, it's my food and wine intake that could use some help. The workouts seem to be going fine now that I'm in the groove.
Carla, that's funny about an imaginary friend passing you up. Good job on 25k!

K-thanks for creating this space! And shedev thanks for volunteering to take it over.
My week was all right. I ran 2x, did one high intensity workout at the gym, and two Fitness Blender strength training workouts.
I just added in the strength training recently, and I have to say that I'm feeling more tired than usual...on top of a full time job and being a parent to two (fairly) little ones.
Goal for this week is the keep all of that up! And to get a bit more rest.

Hi K!
Thanks from me also for being so diligent about this thread. These are exciting times for you and I hope you are taking time to relax.

Thanks Shedev for stepping up.

Decent week of workouts. My goal is to do something everyday like RunCarla and to quit bemoaning fitness setbacks because of my Feb. injury. I'll get back where I was. Thanks RunCarla for exemplifying how to handle this situation with grace.

Sunny and cool today. Chores got done and the relocation drama is nearly over (we move in 2 weeks.) Showed my bicycle a little love, then took it out for a 25K ride. My 'virtual partner' (I got a Garmin for Christmas) passed me at 10K. :-(. Still, I was super happy to be out on the road.

Did an easy lap swim to work out any kinks, then spent half an hour in the therapeutic pool.

My goal this week is to do something every day that raises a sweat!

BTW, thanks K for keeping this going as long as you have. Make sure you take the time in your busy schedule to look after yourself. The empathy from others who post here has helped me cope with unexpected (but good) change that has messed with my training regimen and fitness level recently. I appreciate that you have initiated this opportunity. And, thanks Shedev, for picking up the reigns.

Hi everyone! Before I get started, I have a favor to ask. I've been super busy the past few weeks and am having a bit of trouble getting this posted started every week. Would anyone be willing to take this over for me?

How was you're week? My week was pretty good. I was sick Monday and Tuesday, but I was able to get 9-10,000 steps in on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I feel like I did very well food wise until this weekend when we were visiting family. But, one bad weekend doesn't completely undo everything.

My goal this week is to find a new relaxing yoga routine. After that, it's maintaining 9-10,000 steps a day and eating healthy.

What are your goals for the week?
