				<description>&#060;p&#062;I made my running schedule last night.  I have exactly 18 weeks until the marathon, which is nice because that's a typical marathon schedule.  So I finished off the week with my 6 mile run, which is my long run of this week....tired!

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Well i have been absent from these threads for a few weeks.&#060;br /&#062;
Firstly, Christmas was not great for the weight, largely because I cooked Nigella Lawsons gingerbread stuffing, something I had longed to do for years! But I was the only one who like it, so for 5 days I plugged away eating it until I was sick of it and admitted defeat,  and the rest got discarded.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Secondly, we have had a heatwave here and some individual hot days. Exercise is VERY difficult in these conditions,  (we have no A/C) as the only possible time of the day to run etc, is the early morning and I often use this to sleep, as the heat has prevented my getting to sleep at night.&#060;br /&#062;
Food too is affected, as I tend to go for the least amount of cooking, and a high amount of cold food (more icecream than usual!)&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;It is school holidays too. I have managed one visit to the gym in DH's lunch time, and a few runs with my daughters. I have to do exercises still  for my hip/knee/ hamstrong problems and only run gently. I have revised my race plans down to a 5km in Feb.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Lastly I have started work again, and done 3 days of 4 1/2 hour shifts. These have utterly exhausted me. It is partly adjusting to work ( I haven't worked outside the home since 2007), partly the inevitable brain overload of a new job, and partly because the work is quite physical and also has been almost all standing up.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I assume I will adjust in time, so am taking it a bit easier on myself until I do. I am in my acceptable weight range, though nearer the top than I prefer, and I know I am a bit on the flabby side and the waistband a bit tight. Hopefully it is reversible!

Mo, hope you feel better soon.  The flu took us all out for about 2 weeks here, it was rough.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Well happy to be home after all the holiday travelling.  Did my first run since getting back last night, and it was rougher than it should have been.  Just 4 miles, but the start of my official marathon training.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;It's been a great start of the new year: I've gotten a new job, had a great birthday, and top it off, I lost 2.6 lbs. in 3 weeks. Go figure since I ate my way through the holidays. I have 6 more lbs. until I hit my goal weight and of course that is the hardest part.  So it's back on track with exercise and eating healthy. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm also training for the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in March (Janet, how are you doing with training?) and a bit behind.  I'm planning to get my long run in today (8 miles) and the head to gym class for some weight training.  &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My main goals this week are:  drink lots of water, cut down on starches, eat more veggies and protein.  &#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I've lined up private sessions in Pilaties &#038;amp; I'm starting a weights program at the gym. I'm off wine until a wedding on 19th Jan. It has been so hot here eating well is easy I've been making lots of different salads. My yoga practise has been really hard for some reason - once I get on the mat I'm okay but I seem to be resisting it.
