Saturday afternoon here. I did all my workouts except Friday, which I had to skip because I had to be at work early. Still managed to do 6 activities in 6 days, thanks to Twofer Tuesday! Food wasn't awesome but... onward!

Very late to this thread - did no exercise at all this week as have still been adjusting to work, but I think I need to get back into it as I am not always sleeping well and excercise is usually a very good cure for that.

My weight is down a little - a pound from my "top of the range" which is entirely due to where I am in my cycle. It is amazing the difference between the raging hunger and the calm "able to eat in moderation modes", and how it can flip overnight!

Well done to the runners!

Hehe, it's always slow here around Friday :)

I'm done my runs for the official week, since Sat is one of my rest days. Logged 29 miles is week with one 10 mile run in there....it's getting real people!

Also bought a few things to keep me out of the cookie jar, and I am making a REAL meal plan for my next grocery trip (Wed) so that I have all my meals planned. Hopefully that will keep my sugar bug at bay.

How's everyone else doing at the end of the week?

Thanks for the tips on sugars. I think, as my runs are getting longer and my weekly mileage is getting up there, my body is craving the fastest fuel it can get....sugar! I always was a sugar bug, but my sweet tooth is insatiable lately. Actually, I'm just hungry like a horse! So I think I need to plan out some easy meals for myself each week so I don't have to think about what to eat. I don't care eating the same thing all the time, I just need enough of the same foods around to last the week. I'm thinking bacon, eggs, Greek yogurt for breakfast, huge salad and veggies with chicken or fish for lunch and whatever we plan for supper. I will really try to only snack on things like nuts at night or in between. It will be so hard though! Even my 5 year old has been commenting, "oh, moms eating another cookie!" Hahah....little bugger. And since I hit double digits in runs this week (10 miles today), I think I really need to start fueling up right, and not on garbage.

I am off most sugars/starches, but I do satisfy my sweet tooth with diet soda and treats. Some people find they are better off eliminating everything sweet tasting, YMMV.

I added a "sprint" day last week and was really happy with how good it felt to break a sweat in such a short time. I read of a new definition of "sprinting" on my favorite health blog. He said in addition to real sprints, you can consider as a sprint any complex movement you can do with good form for a few reps. Like say you can do four push ups with good form. Do 5-10 sets of four, with 45 seconds to 1 minute break in between each set.

So I did a pushup / burpee sprint routine and ended up doing nine sets! I was sweaty, exhilarated, and I didn't have to go outside on a chilly, rainy day.

Raisin, I have been off sugar and simple carbs permanently now for three years, and it is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. You probably already know this but it takes 3 weeks for your body to get over the "low carb flu" which is the detox. Headache, stupidity, nausea, no energy. Then one day, you wake up and you feel ... so GREAT! It's totally worth it.

I can't wait to go to Zumba tomorrow. Why? Because I have a cute new workout outfit! Ha ha. Whatever gets me to the gym, right?

Eh, I can't seem to get in a new routine. Back up a pound or two since my new low upon moving home. Really need to find how to fit in workouts on my days off, since work wears me out and I'm not an up an hour early to go run in 15 degrees kind of gal . . .
On that note, off to do a set on the home gym.

MaryK - sometimes the last 5 lbs are hard to lose because we don't need to lose them. Just sayin' :). We all have happy weights at our bodies sort of revert to. I think you look fantastic as is!

Anna - an hour walk is great! For the heart, legs and mind. I love walking, I need to get out and do it more.

Today I bailed on the gym. I walked to the local store for a newspaper. After delivering the papers to my Dad at home, I decided to go for a proper walk. I went for an hour. Not as much as my gym workout but much, much better for my mental health.

Hanging in there.

My weight is actually at the low end of my range today, which is awesome. I'd like for this number to be at the top of my range rather than the bottom, but I'll take it. I swear, it's ridiculous how hard those infamous "last five pounds" are to get rid of!

My trainer is busy coaching high school basketball this week so it looks like I'll only be able to have one private session. So the schedule is:

M: Boot camp class
T: Boot camp class a.m., tap class p.m.
W: Boot camp class
Th: Trainer session
F: Boot camp class
S: Boot camp class

The eating is a little better. Trying to eat more fresh veggies and will continue with that.

Good job on the 11 mi city girl! I'm doing the full in May. My long runs are only up to 8 mi so far. I also did a 1/2 in 2011. It's tough work, but rewarding!

My goals, do all my runs. So far so good on that front. Also want to kick the sugar habit still! I know I've talked about it before, but it's so damn hard, but after reading even more about the toxic effects of it, I think I'm finally ready to quit cold turkey. Need to plan out some meals first, but once I do, it's 100% gone. I. Don't do moderation very well, when it comes to sweets anyway.

We expect a thaw this week, upper 40s F (ca 7 C). I've been enjoying walks with a pair of new boots this week. It has been years since I have had warm, comfortable winter boots with good ice traction.
