Having a really hard time with that one new physio exercise, hopefully I will relax more as I do it more and not overthink. The others are going well and I'm not even noticing the added weights.
Hope you enjoy those nature walks in the frigid temps Laurinda.
You're so dedicated M-K. I always enjoy well planned meals due to fatigue at that time of day.
WTG being dedicated to your runs Raisin. Sorry to hear about this new injury. Have you made an appointment with the chiropathist or are you just going to wait and see. I have a few girlfriends with pf but none of them are runners. If you do go bring both your old runners and your new ones with you, a chiropathist will be able to give you the answer re support. Do you have a sports medicine clinic at a local university that teaches medicine? They are really good too, I've gone to see them back when I was active and incurred sports related injuries. Funny how it doesn't bother you while you run.
You seem to be on a roll Alicat, good luck with increasing the water intake.
Have a good week Caro, it's hard to miss when you have to isn't it.
Great planning R&J, you seem to really be doing well.
Citygirl sorry to hear that your runs have been hard to get to due to weather and inauguration. Here in the downtown core we have the canal to run along so it doesn't interfere except the weekend of the big marathon.
Kristin what kind of sports did you enjoy when younger?
Anna, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope he recovers soon. Great getting to the gym, that's a good accomplishment.
Anne so glad that things are going so well. You are so motivated. How awesome that you are loving your running watch.
Hard when we have company isn't it Mo. Good luck getting back on track.

I need to get on track. I spent most of last week working hard and then the last 2 days (my 'weekend') eating and drinking too much with an out of town guest here.
I am up just a pound or two but more importantly I haven't done any dedicated workout in over a week, more like two. Some planks, push ups, and sit ups are in order for starters

The Garmins are great. We use Garmin GPS at work and they always make great products. I would have went for their Forerunner if I got one as well. I agree though, the HRM is not worth the extra, I don't think I'd ever wear it!

Raisin I didn't go for the heart monitor in the end - just couldn't justify the extra expense it would mean.

I got the Garmin Forerunner 10, btw

Thanks Anne, I think it will be fine. My rest day is tomorrow and that should help.

Your new GPS watch sounds great! Did you end up getting the heart rate monitor or no? I'm using my Nike + app on my iPod nano and it seems to be doing well. Fairly accurate anyway,, I'm sure it's not as good as a GPS watch. I was so tempted to get one too! Sounds like your workouts are going well!

I have swum a bit more and even managed to do 1.26km in the time my kids took to do their lessons a bit more.

And today I went on a runwalk for 2km with DD5 and then a jog with DD7 for 2.78km - and the reason I can be so precise is that I was trying out my new running watch for the first time. This is going to be a big incentive!!

Only downside was some minor pain in the knee and bottom, showing me that I shouldn't have slacked off so majorly on my physio exercises!

Raisin, hope your heel recovers

BTW I live in a part of Australia that is only averaged 36-38 on the map above (kind of orange colour) so we did a lot better than most of the nation!

Ok so I went to the gym twice over the three day weekend. Because I cooking for myself and my Dad I've been eating way more carbs than I usually eat. My weight is up a bit. I think with all the crap in my life right now I think I'll give myself a pass until my father is recovered. He's not even well enough to unload the dishwasher.

Thanks Alicat. That does seem like a good possibility from what I read on that link. It seems to have loosened up now, so I will do my run and see how it goes. I want to avoid skipping too many, and do it only when I really need to. Perhaps I will have to buy a new pair of sneaks. I did buy new ones a couple months ago, but mistakenly bought the Nike lunar glide, whereas the lunar eclipse is what I have found work really well on my feet. They weren't causing problems so far, but maybe they are not quite the right support for me. Off to do my run and see how it goes!

Raisin, might be plantar fasciitis -- I've had it, and it's always looming for me if I don't stretch my calves and feet enough and wear shoe inserts. A podiatrist can tell you if that's what you have. Here's some info:

Ack! This week is like -20 all week and added windchill! Not good for running.

Also, the bottom of my left heel hurts quite a lot from yesterdays run. Not sure why. It's hard to put full weight on. Don't know what to do about that, if I should not run today, and how long it will take to heal. Anyone ever experience this? I am only now starting to get "running injuries"....the first 10 years of my running "career" have been pretty much pain free. Guess I'm getting old, huh? Lol....

I had to adjust my workouts last week due to the large patches of black ice on the roads. I had to substitute a couple of runs for my Zumba DVD and this will probably continue until the weekend.

I am still sticking to the three square meals and no snack diet and finally have a handle on the my sugar cravings!

My goal for this week is to continue to be flexible and to drink much more water.

Crazy how different it can be! I am just working on my runs this week. So far doing good, completing them all on time. I know the mileage is going to get harder soon though...I run outside when the weather permits. So far it's been fairly accommodating. I'm hoping the next couple months are mostly good.

I have felt totally unorganized ever since I got back from the big trip and went RIGHT back to work, but I have a three-day weekend so I feel like I am finally getting caught up a little. Which means I am going to plan nice healthy meals for the week, shop, and make it happen.

And as always, I am aiming for two trainer sessions, a tap lesson, and at least four boot camp classes!

Cheering everyone on for a healthy week!
