&#060;p&#062;I've been going to a weekly exercise class since October. At first I could barely do the easy options for every routine. Now I am almost up to doing the 'real' exercise versions, but the trainer is very good about showing us the things you can add &#034;if you want more!&#034; :-P&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I think the 'gold stars' were from when I was 3 or 4 - I remember a wall chart that listed things like brushing my teeth and making my bed. LOL, funny how that stuck with me.

&#060;p&#062;I think you'll really enjoy that watch Anne.  Also, you did do those laps while the kids were having lessons.  That is a great feat actually.  I like those small things we do.  I figure they all add up to something awesome at the end of the year.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Why are flu shots such an area if contention Elly, my husband and son both won't get them and it drives me mad.  Winter can be really difficult when it is windy.  One day this week I huddled in warm clothing here at home.  Luckily my physio doesn't make me sweaty so no shower required, that would have killed me.  Good luck next week with your plan.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;How did that long run go Raisin?  That ipod nano sounds like it fits you perfectly.&#060;/p&#062;

&#060;p&#062;Laurinda thanks for the idea.  Maybe Starbucks once a month will be my gold star.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;The physio session this week was hard.  There is this one exercise that has to be done with pressure on bent knees for my hip and it has been reintroduced.  She modified it from the way the last physiotherapist had me do it and it is much better.  Hopefully her plan will work.  I will try it for the second time today, wish me luck as the first time didn't go so well.  I think my body just has to be slowly introduced to it and that it will work out in the end.  I also had to get a little apparatus the right width and height for the exercise with the weights.  After two fails I think I've got it.  Will bring it in next time to be sure.  A really good week all in all for physio/exercises (and five hockey functions).

&#060;p&#062;I have finally bought a GPS running watch and looking forward to putting though it's paces!!&#060;br /&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I too am trying to get my SO to get a flu shot. He says that they make him feel crummy, and he has a great immune system so even when he gets sick it usually isn't bad, but I worry because he has a history of illness inducing asthma, and it has been in the negatives during the day here--- plus, even though I get a flu shot each year, because of my immune problems I am still at risk and I don't need him bringing it home. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My goal is to get myself to the gym this next week, and maybe hit SO's treadmill. From April to November I was doing great with exercise without having to shell out cash for the gym, but it hasn't been above 15 degrees here in 6 weeks and I would rather sit on a fire poker than get sweaty or showering and then having to go out in the wind. &#060;/p&#062;

Some days I feel like stopping for a minute, but I just can't because I know it will mess up up pace.  It keeps me going that she keeps calling out my mileage and pace. &#060;p&#062;I'm now two weeks into my re-balancing diet, three healthy meals a day with no snacks and still have the post festive sugar cravings. I'm not really trying to lose weight but do need to change some bad eating habits.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I have started the week off well with a five mile run and a marathon home cleaning session (trying to build cleaning into the exercise schedule, hoovering 29 stairs must burn a few calories).&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I plan to do another three runs this week and a couple of Zumba sessions too&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I m wondering how to quantify the effects of the diet and exercise when my aim is not to loose weight? Enjoyment, energy, stamina...I'm undecided.

&#060;p&#062;After a less than stellar week I'm back into doing my physio workouts.  Finding them much more difficult but I know part of that is the repetition, my body starts to grind somewhat in the joints.  Went out yesterday and bought new ankle weights which will be starting this week at physio's instruction.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Hockey is back, YAH!!  Went to the team practice yesterday and it killed my hip, back and knee.  Glad of this as it will come up at physio appt this week and it is a recurring problem so looking forward to hear her thoughts on how to cure it.

&#060;p&#062;I've been eating one ounce of dark chocolate every day, and I will continue doing so.  Gotta have my half-and-half in my coffee too!  As Julia Child said, moderation in all things, including moderation.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Hehe, I was never able to do a bridge even at age 6 (B's niece recently told me &#034;oh, that's EASY!&#034;)  I wish you well!  I love yoga but I'm always the least flexible person in class.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My Start Small goals: get back to hitting the gym (either my real gym, or the small fitness center in my apartment complex) at least 3 days a week.  Once I had that pattern built up, I was motivated to go MORE than 3 days a week without feeling like I had to do so.

&#060;p&#062;I love yoga. That backbend is something great to work up to. I can do one as far as the top of my head, but I can't yet get my arms to lift me the rest of the way. Hubby lifted me one day and it was fun, but I was sore afterward.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My goal this week is to spend more time outside. My weather is chilly but sunny, so it shouldn't be impossible to do. The challenge is to balance it with a lot of work that requires me to be inside at the computer.&#060;/p&#062;
