				<description>&#060;p&#062;Well, after weeks and weeks of snowy and frigid weather I've finally despaired of ever going for a long walk outdoors so I've joined a gym, too. Or actually a large community center with multiple gyms, pools, dance and yoga studios, and just about any fitness opportunity you could ever want. I don't know why we waited so long- it's fabulous! DH and I just went to our first spinning class today and loved it.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm so impressed with the commitment to fitness that so many of you here demonstrate. I'm hoping to take full advantage of my new opportunities and try to follow in your footsteps!

&#060;p&#062;K, Fredericton is the capital city of New Brunswick which is eastern Canada. &#038;nbsp;It is a very nice small city with a lot of history.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;We are going to go to Hawaii this year and I really need to lose some weight - maybe 10-15 pounds. It's very doable, but maybe by someone else!&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I've been walking about an hour every day because my dogs insist on it. I'm avoiding wine, and am having only one beer a week. Sweets are my downfall, but fortunately all the Christmas chocolate has finally been consumed.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;My work schedule, the dark, the extreme cold are keeping me out of the gym and killing my energy. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I've also been eating a lot of junk because my housemates are &#034;eating healthy&#034; to loose weight and lower cholesterol and BP and I was loosing too much weight eating my normal portions. However, their &#034;healthy food&#034; (which I normally love) isn't doing it for me and I've overeaten of sugar a time or two because I'm missing vitamins and good fat but haven't had the get up and go to make a special shopping trip for good-fat and vitamin loaded snacks that I really don't have time to eat. Sigh . . . .&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I've had good chocolate (like afternoon tea, good coffee, or wine chocolate) in the house since December and haven't had an opportunity to savor it . . .&#038;nbsp; literally haven't had an afternoon &#034;off&#034; since then.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I've secretly added swimming to my Sunday-morning routine. Hadn't been in years, so it's taking a while to feel it again. This week, one of the pool attendants &#034;promoted&#034; me from the slowest lane to a medium one. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Yesterday I packed bentos for today, even though I'm working from home. It felt good to just warm up the breakfast layer when I got hungry, instead of having to figure out what to eat. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Dianthus has me inspired re returning to weight-lifting. But I have a cold *again* so strength training won't happen this week.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Still using FitBit (thanks for the nudges, Mo!) albeit officially just to track sleep. Can't help looking at the step count, though, and there are days when that means I walk instead of taking the bus.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Due to the unusually cold weather this winter, I've had no desire to exercise, or bike to work, or&#038;nbsp;run even though I'm supposed to being training for a 10-miler in 8 weeks. Unfortunately, my clothes feel a little snug so it's time to get back on track this week. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My goals this week: &#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;Tues: run 5 miles&#060;br /&#062;Wed: stationary bike for an hour&#060;br /&#062;Thur: run 5 miles &#060;br /&#062;Fri: HIIT class or break day&#060;br /&#062;Sat: Run 7 miles.&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Hi. &#038;nbsp;Not so great over here. &#038;nbsp;Wine tasting Sunday put a bump in the road to health. &#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;The training for a 10K is keeping me running, though. &#038;nbsp;I'm doing my bodyweight exercises about 80% of the time, which I'll call a mild success. &#038;nbsp;Food and wine continue to be the trouble spot. &#038;nbsp;Progress, not perfection is my mantra there. &#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;I have heard that the extra fiber from fruits and veg can bloat you and to introduce them gradually into the diet. &#038;nbsp;I don't eat nearly enough of them myself. &#038;nbsp;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I haven't posted in a while mainly because I'm in Mexico on vacation. &#038;nbsp;My goal with fitbit is to get in 10000 steps per day. &#038;nbsp;I was averaging closer to 25K for most of the vacation and exceeded 30K on a number of days. &#038;nbsp;Yesterday I walked well over 10 miles and most of it was on the beach or in the water.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I have decided to start lifting weights when I get home. &#038;nbsp;I go home on Friday but am only home a week and then off to Fredericton for a week. &#038;nbsp;I am trying to decide if I should start right away even if it means a 1 week break or wait.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Thanks for posting the thread K. &#038;nbsp;I plan to be far more consistent in the next while and hopefully make a good habit of it.

&#060;p&#062;So I guess what I'm saying is to try different combos as well. You may find certain fruits eaten after certain veg may be lethal mixes!&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Thanks for posting, K. &#038;nbsp;I did quite well this week--actually lost some more weight and did well with exercises. &#038;nbsp;Tried on a longer sweater I haven't worn out yet--I bought it weeks ago--and I looked pretty good. &#038;nbsp;Hooray. &#038;nbsp;It was snug over the belly and has stripes and wasn't too flattering at my higher weight. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I normally eat a lot of fruits and veggies and I don't generally notice any bloating. &#038;nbsp;Perhaps it will work for you as your body gets used to them? &#038;nbsp;The main thing that causes immediate noticeable bloating for me are white carbs--even if I eat only a small amount.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;And I finally got serious and am off wine (except for Valentine's) until I reach my goal.&#038;nbsp;

&#060;p&#062;I'm proud to say that my willpower over delicious baked goodies/candy&#038;nbsp;is improving! I did have 2 chocolate turtles today, but all last week I prevailed. And the rest of this week I will try to do better as well. The exercise is still going pretty well.&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I hope this isn't too personal of a question, but I've been working on adding more fruits and veggies to my diet and I've noticed something. I've felt like I have a little bit of extra bloat going on. It's not painful or anything like that. It's just enough that only I notice it.&#038;nbsp;Has anyone noticed that when doing the same? What did you do it to help get rid of it?&#060;/p&#062;
