Well it's packed snow Mo, the plow has been over it. It is still much harder to push than on the pavement though. I'm just hoping it makes a regular run feel so much easier!

I am still aiming to lift my weights regularly. Today I'm due again. No running for the foreseeable future for me. I don't know how you can push a stroller through snow Rae! Good for you.

I think I'm talking to myself here this week......but I did do runs outside the past 2 days. It is still very warm out despite the new dump of snow. I found that running on the snow is possible, but not easy while pushing a chariot. I have to keep to the well packed snow and avoid ice. So, I'm not sure how long it will be doable for.....maybe I should come up with a new plan. It's much easier for me to run with the baby in tow, so I don't have to wait for him to nap and hope he naps long enough....I'm wondering if my local Y has an indoor track. Hmmm...I don't think so for some reason, but I'm going to check!'

How's everyone doing? Are we on a break for the next week or 2?

Sorry about the snow Laurinda! We must have got 20-30cm over the past day and a half....yuck! So, does anyone have experience running in the snow? Usually at this point in the year I switch over to my treadmill, but I want to keep running outside because I find the treadmill is not great for preparing for a large race outside, and also the baby needs to get out of the house at least once a day or he gets wiry, and he seems to love the runs. I'm not sure how my sneakers will fare on the snow, but I'm hoping on the newly packed snow there will be some grip. Apparently you can buy some sort of running snowshoes but they look awfully hard to run in, to me.

Raisin you must have sent your snow my way! A foot so far, and more on the way. Thundersnow last night even.

Thanks for the encouragement! The gym is closed (snow day) but I am still getting a workout schlepping heavy wet snow. Between that and moving a bunch of heavy boxes over the past couple days makes me very appreciative of 'functional fitness'.

I'm here. No running outside for me either, with the ice and snow and a badly sprained ankle a year ago, I'm taking no chances.
I did the home gym 3 times this week but only one set each time. It's a start. Down to a new low weight of the last several years somehow. Must be the home cooking instead of convenience foods.

No one is posting now that we are so close to the Holidays? :)

We had a major snowstorm all last night and today, so DS1 was home from school yet again, so no run for me! He had the flu on Monday and I felt a little sick the past few days too, so skipping today wasn't too hard. I think running outside will be out of the question now though, so I will have to come up with a new routine!

Laurinda - good job on those planks. Before you know it you will hold those planks for a minute.

I had a bad weekend of indulgence: girls night in on Friday, stayed in on Saturday by deciding to treat myself to all the candy and leftover from the previous night, and Sunday, I was good. I did NOT exercise all weekend but am ready to start fresh this week.

HIIT class today, 7 mile run scheduled tomorrow, more classes and runs later.

I had a bad week last week, so I got in order today and did a run to start off the week. The weather is still holding out ok, but the roads are getting icy.

Good job on the plank pose Laurinda! I need to do some more strength training in general. I do push ups here and there, but that's about it.

Mo - looks like a good home gym! The stairs will be good cardio too!

Caro, some private sessions will be nice, and should keep you on track over the holidays!

My gym classes have finished for the year so I need to get inventive. I'm going to treat myself to a couple of private sessions to keep me motivated over the holidays.
ETA - sorry forgot - well done with the plank - they really do work:)

Good job on the plank progress, Laurinda!! I do one minute planks when I remember and they are a fab exercise. I should get back to them, thanks for the reminder.
I am down 5 pounds from my average FL weight this summer. 2 pounds from moving day. I'll take it!
I have to switch gears from running, since it's snow land and I have no treadmill. I need to focus on weights now, which I was needing anyway, so that's good. We have a home gym so I have NO excuses.
I am also back in a 3 story condo, from our one story in FL, so the stairs are good practice for work which is 2 stories.

How is everybody doing in the thick of holidays and festivals?

I had a red-letter week: I held a plank for 30 seconds (I could not even do 5 seconds last month).

This week I will get some type of workout in on 4 days.
