Janet, FWIW, I track it all but only 'count' the average for the month at the end, as seen in my graph. I may weigh 118 or 121 in the same week but at the end I'm averaging 119.5. It works for me because I don't get emotionally tied to a morning's number. I acknowledge it, and make slight adjustments accordingly if necessary. It's the upward trend week after week that gets to me. (also I can see through a graph like this that when I move to Tahoe I drop a few pounds right away and when I'm in FL I gain a few right off. Also, warm weather months I weigh more than in the dead of winter. It's the overall trends that interest me. And fitting into my clothing, of course!)

Uh, Pil, I think going to yoga 4-5 times a week is outstanding. No slouch there.

It's so interesting to me how many of you track fractions of pounds. I would drive myself insane if I did that. I can vary by a pound or more from the beginning of the day to the end of it. I don't even own a scale, and I don't know exactly what I weigh. Maybe if I did, I'd be more motivated to achieve a particular number, but I think I'm okay with doing what I'm currently doing. I have to admit, though, sometimes you all make me wonder if I should be more vigilant.

Pil, as long as you are challenging yourself, that's what counts. May we all be better than the week, or year, before!
I finished the month of October with 120.5 average weight so I missed by half a pound. Onward to November to wage war against the little bugger.

Sounds like everyone has been doing pretty good! It's been a pretty good week for me too - vigorous hike 2 times so far and weather looks suited for at least 2 more this week - also did weights once so far and plan to repeat today. Made a big batch of kale chips for nighttime snacking (experimenting with a friend's dehydrator) and we grow our own kale so it was easy to get enough.

Well, the week kicked off with Shoptoberfest weekend with the ladies in SoCal, so there was plenty of eating, but also a lot of walking. I also managed to get in a little run/walk each morning before the gang met up for shopping. I've been trying to stick with some kind of activity every day. In the past, when I was training for races, I would run every other day and be pretty sedentary on the days in between. I've come to realize I feel so much better emotionally, mentally, and physically, when I am active every single day, even if it's a brisk walk rather than a run. The Fitbit has been really helpful for this.

Foodwise, I have not been on my best behavior, but I tend to self-correct after a day or so of more indulgence.

Good morning ladies. I have neglected to post on the thread. I have a love/hate relationship with the scale so am trying to not weigh myself often. I seem to reward myself if I do well and get bummed and eat when I am not doing well so I avoid the scale if I think it will be a trigger.

I installed a TV in front of the treadmill so I could watch a show and walk and it helps. I have been trying to get my 70K steps per week and have some really good days and some not so good days but overall have been fairly consistent. I have also been watching the diet. I did have one ice cream event but it was relatively controlled - a DQ blizzard - and I got back on track the next day.

I weighed in this morning and was down a few. I have lost about 13 lbs and have 8.6 to get to my goal. I am not sure that my goal is right though. I am questioning my goal now though. I am 5'5" and my goal is 132 which would be okay if I was lifting weights and had a decent amount of muscle. I wonder if it is low enough but then remember my doctor telling me not to go much below 140 as she felt it was better to stay in the mid range of the normal BMI. I think the BMI scale is accurate for me as I am as far from an athlete as one could get. :) Anyway, I am getting closer to my goal weight and that is very good.

Grimace, but I report in anyway. Back from a week long cruise. Gained three pounds and hope to lose them quickly. Why does it take a week to gain 3 pounds and 2-3 weeks to lose it?

Yet the two weeks before I had back to back house guests. Lots of eating out. Maybe two or three pounds there. I was so close to my goal!

Good news: On the ship there were 10 floors for passengers. At times the elevators were swamped. While normally I avoid stairs (arthritis in knees) my impatience took over. I discovered that physical therapy has helped with strength and flexibility.

NOTE to self: I can't handle fruit juice anymore, so why would I think I could drink two strawberry margaritas and not get indigestion?

Good news: We had a relatively healthy breakfast in our cabin every day. No buffet to tempt us.

I hope everyone is feeling great, nearing their goals, and treating their bodies with compassion.

Mo: good luck on your 5K!
K: sounds like you have found the right balance for you, awesome!
Runcarla: I admire your dedication to yard chores - once there is snow on the yard I consider it a lost cause...
LACeleste: Sounds like you are working hard - Maybe a hot bath for those sore muscles?
Amiable: WOW @ your decluttering efforts!
Anne: I hope you are feeling more yourself soon.

Ran three times last week, though not my best distance or speed. I completed Couch to 5K program this summer so this is my first cool season of running and I am trying to cut myself some slack as I adjust to the temperature and find the right combination of gear. I attended two yoga classes and felt great after both. Last night I went out for all you can eat sushi with friends and avoided most of the battered/fried things, as well as the second round of orders, which I think is what causes the dreaded Sushi Coma.

My Workout plan for this week:
Monday: run (check!)
Wednesday: travelling for work, but packing trainers so I can use the hotel gym. Missing Yoga :(
Friday: Working overnight Thurs will bump my usual run, but still planning to go to Yoga
Saturday: run

Thanks Mo. Still waiting on the iron infusion which isn't until Dec. Still too tired on the weekends to exercise and this time I also had lots of events both days and a debilitating headache on Sat. I also have a sore back
I managed one short treadmill run and one circuit class last week.

I had a reasonably good week. I ran twice, and worked out a half hour all the other days (the runs were each about a half hour too). I discovered though that I must have hunched my shoulders while I ran, because my shoulders and neck got really sore. Now I'm down with a cold, and will probably switch to lighter workouts (stretching and maybe a little strength training) for the week.

I've taken fish oil and a multivitamin for 2 full weeks now, and lost 3.5 pounds since I stopped counting calories and started on those vitamins. (I also add a tiny bit more exercise and made an effort to snack on non-sugary items when I snack).

I'm also de-cluttering, which is terrific. I so prefer less clutter. I have already filled and donated 15 bags of clutter. My goal is 40 by the end of November. I think I'll meet the goal if I stay motivated :)

Swim mojo back for sure! Had a great swim workout Saturday am. Bailed on the Sunday gym workout with DH since we desperately needed to do yard chores! It has been snowing here for a week, and we had not done what needed to be done in preparation. (Putting water barrels away, emptying the last of the pots, trimming down the garden vegetation, packing up the outdoor tables and chairs, planting the spring bulbs, replacing the glass in the screen doors.). We wore rubber boots with woollen socks, winter coats, toques, and I had 8 hr hand-warmers in my mitts (I get desperately cold these days.)

DH is travelling for work all next week, so I think I'll try to get into a workout routine.

Good morning! I did pretty well last week. Got 3 runs, a bike ride, and a nice long walk. Assorted random push ups and yoga stretches, but not quite a workout. Still need to get that strength training in the mix.
I did fairly well with food, if a little too much wine on one day, and succeeded in getting and staying under 120 finally. Barely (119.9 the last 3 days lol) but it counts!
Next week is a 5K on Saturday, so I'm only running twice. My ankle I sprained a few years back gets aggravated if I don't give it enough rest. Hoping to just maintain the sub 120 weight for the week, before I look to start shaving off another pound or two by New Year's.
As always, hope to add in the weight training.
(going to play tennis in a bit - first time this year!)
