Lol, Susan! I've been hanging in there as well. Exercise is good and diet has been decent. I'm trying to cut back on my snacks and eat more lean protein. See you all next week : )

Doing better this week, although I haven't entirely lost the weight I regained. I feel like I'm on track. As I've gotten older it is so much easier to gain weight and so much harder to lose it. Maybe I'll print up that photo of Helen Mirren in the bikini and put it up on the pantry door. Just thinking about her right now I'm going to go get a big drink of water instead of eating something. (I will never look like Helen in a swimsuit, but I can certainly look a lot better than I do at the moment!)

I'm doing ok and I have to agree with the comment by Michelle Bridges. I have focused on improving my eating habits since January and have lost some weight even though I have only recently tried to increase my exercise (because I'm quite lazy...).

I've found a new things to focus on - I'm always exhausted in the evenings after the children are in bed and feel as if I lose a couple of hours when I could do something if only I had the energy. I've realised that it's the area in my day when I haven't followed my rules of eating every 3-4 hours and also that I definitely need a fruit intake then rather than carbohydrate. So that's my focus for the week! If I have more energy then later in the evening I could perhaps do some exercise too...

Yay for me! Last 2,5 weeks DD6 had Easter/May holiday and that makes it difficult for me to follow through on my healthy habits. But last Monday I got right back on track: I had hardly any sweets and I went to the gym. Today I went to the gym again and I put all the weights a little bit heavier - as I was told by the gym trainer. I am very proud of myself for jumping back in. I only have time to go back next Tuesday because of other obligations but I have an apointment with the trainer that morning for a new program.

My week was decent exercise wise (2 botcamp classes, 1 yoga class, 1 run and a few walks). Yet again my food intake was not fantastic. I think I fall into a rut on workdays, where I tend to only eat 2 meals, and one of them is a toasted ham&cheese sandwich. Then I make up for it on non-work days! Oops.

I was interested to read part of the intro of Michelle Bridges' book (she is one of the trainers on Australia's The Biggest Loser) and she said that if one person was great at exercise and had a bad diet, and another cleaned up their diet but did no exercise the 2nd person would still lose more weight. I think I need to get serious about cleaning up all the indulgences that have been sneaking into my lifestyle and becoming everyday occurences rather than the occasional treat!

How did it go last week on the healthy habits challenge?

I had a good week, not as much exercise as I'd like but I am consistently getting in several workouts a week. I did some climbing outside, which was great. Eating was good, back on track after my chaotic travel weeks.

I also just read the book "Born to Run" which was super interesting and inspired me to run. If you like running, I quite recommend this book.
