				<description>&#060;p&#062;Ugh-- this is my last week at work, we are trying to finish up about 100 to dos left over from our two year project. I've promised the SO that I will be on the treadmill first thing on Thursday, my first day off. I've been doing plenty of lifting, but maybe not enough regular cardio. Food will downslide as we try to empty our stores, but I should get plenty of workouts packing, cleaning, and moving.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Beth Ann, I think sometimes I end up doing the planks palms up by accident, because I often have my phone as a timer and sometimes I'll hold in it my palms face up and read something to pass the time.&#038;nbsp; I'll have to see if it feels different next time I try it!&#038;nbsp; One thing that really helped me was to do the plank for as long as I can, then rest briefly (like 30&#034;, basically just enough to relax the muscles, not to recover) and do another plank for 30-45&#034;.&#038;nbsp; It really helped me get over getting stuck at particular times.&#038;nbsp;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Fried and breaded, sugar, fat and wine. No exercise except walking up and down a couple of flights of stairs on a tour of The Breakers.&#060;br /&#062;
Clearly this isn't healthy habits week. What can you do? Travel is always the worst for me. As soon as I get back home I will revert to good habits.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Newport is lovely, although rainy today. One last dinner with the newlyweds tonight and then we head for home. Quite a party.

&#060;p&#062;Maneera:&#038;nbsp; I hear you on the effect of a traveling spouse!&#038;nbsp; My DH works from home, and is really helpful with the two kids -- supervising homework, and picking them up from practice, etc.&#038;nbsp; I'm quite spoiled.&#038;nbsp; &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Diana:&#038;nbsp; I'm a planker, too.&#038;nbsp; I just read an article about trying the plank palms up.&#038;nbsp; Apparently, it shifts more of the effort to the core from the shoulders, arms and chest.&#038;nbsp; It is more difficult, but I'm throwing it in there with my other variations.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm learning how to grocery shop in our new town (Trader Joe's is nearby, woohoo), and have started planning our meals more mindfully.&#038;nbsp; After using WW online in the past, I made the switch to tracking with myfitnesspal and using my fitbit -- and I love it! &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;As for workouts, after years at a gym, I'm now working out at home as a financial decision.&#038;nbsp; It's going fine though.&#038;nbsp; In my current state of fitness, bodyweight exercises, along with tools like dumbells, bands, rollers and a Bosu ball, I'm able to challenge myself.&#038;nbsp; 3 days a week I'm doing a 40 minute Circuit workout that I vary to keep myself interested.&#038;nbsp; I'm walking or biking on the other days.&#038;nbsp; Eventually, I'll need a bit more intensity in the cardio.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Sally:&#038;nbsp; Cake is the bomb.&#038;nbsp; It can explode the best of intentions!&#038;nbsp; &#060;/p&#062;

&#060;p&#062;I can feel I've gained a bit of weight in September. My husband is traveling a lot, and I have way more chores on my hands, so my workouts kind of suffer. Plus I rarely bother to cook just for myself. Add to that the holiday in Singapore with a busted foot afterwards--- it just hasn't helped. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I intend to get back on track this week. I am going to ensure I do a brisk 60 minute walk everyday and become more mindful about eating. I intend to eat super healthy for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I'll get back in shape in time!

&#060;p&#062;Sally - I empathise on falling off the food wagon - it happened to me too. I had a baking frenzy on Sunday and am now up quite a lot in my weight again... Sigh - will I ever learn.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I did an leisurely 5km park run with DD on Sat, plus walking to and from the course, but didn't get round to my plans for a longer run, even though it was a long weekend. We had quite an active outing to a botanic garden on the Monday though, with enough hill action to give me mildly sore calves.

&#060;p&#062;I have been doing pretty well with eating and exercise.&#038;nbsp; Have really been trying to be more mindful of portion size and doing fairly well, I think.&#038;nbsp; &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Still doing a plank a day.&#038;nbsp; Planks are really good for me - I can feel my core strength improving (though slowly... I am only up to 2 minutes at a time) and they don't aggravate my weak wrists and elbows the way a lot of body weight exercises do.&#038;nbsp; Although I am developing weird calluses/dry spot on the forearm side of my elbows right where they touch the ground while planking.&#038;nbsp; I kind of like it though - it means Serious Business, right?&#038;nbsp; ;)&#038;nbsp; &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I tripped and twisted my bad ankle last week (and bashed up my other knee) so skipped a couple of elliptical sessions, but I'm back at it now.&#038;nbsp; So overall pretty good.&#038;nbsp; Going to try to be good this week because next week I am going to be traveling to Athens for work, which will disrupt my food and exercise.&#038;nbsp; But I'll probably be doing a lot of walking there!&#060;/p&#062;
