&#060;p&#062;I did a 20 mile training run yesterday and am feeling just fine today, so that's pretty good.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Dianthus, that low-carb eating/weight loss sounds pretty remarkable! &#038;nbsp;On the back pain side, I have some spine&#038;nbsp;issues that result in aches and pains, and I found that 10-20 minutes of upper body and core exercises to do wonders for my back. &#038;nbsp;In fact, yesterday morning I was having trouble bending down because of back pain so I did my exercises and was pain-free for the rest of the day, including doing a few hours of household chores and the long run.

&#060;p&#062;I haven't participated in the thread in some time. &#038;nbsp;I did something to my back in spring and although I did golf fairly regularly over the summer, my back didn't always appreciate it and I bailed on the 14th hole the last time we played because I could barely pick up my ball by then.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;On the plus side (or minus side), I have been eating low carb for three months except for two days when I ate chips. &#038;nbsp;No sugar though. &#038;nbsp;I weighed on the weekend and am down 10 lbs. &#038;nbsp;That doesn't sound like much for 3 months but it is better than I have done in a while so I am good with it.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Carla, I think its great that you have figured a way to work around your schedule and Mo, the move should give you a free pass for a bit. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I'm going to join in (even though I'm a bit late), because I could use some accountability and cheerleading.&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My fight against my weight hasn't been all that great over the past few months, and I'm pretty frustrated. I've decided to start down the road of the paleo diet. I've done it for a little bit at a time in the past, and have really liked it. I'm definitely a 'meat and veggies' girl for losing weight, as opposed to someone who responds well to the low fat approach. I struggle with it a bit, because I'm on a student budget, and meat is more expensive than veggies around where I am. I could do a chickpea curry for a fraction of the cost of a chicken breast and broccoli. &#038;nbsp;That, and I'm enough of an environmentalist to appreciate the costs of factory farming (both to the environment and the animals themselves).&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;In the end, though, my body doesn't do well on carbs and sugar.&#038;nbsp;So, I guess the best I can do is say 'I'm making these decisions with my eyes open'. Wish me luck!

&#060;p&#062;I slept in today and missed my bootcamp class. In my defense, my DH got back late last night from a boys' long weekend in Las Vegas. I could sign up for tomorrow morning's class but it's taught by a different teacher and that always takes some interpersonal juice to deal with, something I don't really have first thing in the morning. Ugh.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I hope you guys don't mind me mentioning some goals that are health-related but not food or exercise - I'm really wanting to get better at flossing more often, and all that teeth-maintenance stuff. So I brushed, flossed and did a whitening rinse this morning after breakfast. One day down...

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Happy Birthday ShevDev! &#038;nbsp;I am trying to amp up my exercise because clearly my metabolism has pooped out and I now have a belly. &#038;nbsp;I've never had one and it is weird and in my way. &#038;nbsp;I am going back to once a week yoga (which I love but just was too lazy to drive there)&#038;nbsp;and adding more cardio and strength training. &#038;nbsp;I heard a trainer say that strength training is the only way to change up your genetic tendencies so I feel hopeful. &#038;nbsp;I am also trying to eat less meat to be healthier and I think it's better for our planet. &#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;

&#060;p&#062;I have had a good exercise week with four good workouts. &#038;nbsp;And lots of party dancing.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;However I fell off the wagon with eating and ate A LOT of chocolate. &#038;nbsp;It is foolish as it did not really agree with me afterwards. &#038;nbsp;I am not usually a binger but I did binge on chocolate. &#038;nbsp;I need to be stronger than that.&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Happy birthday! &#038;nbsp;And congrats again to Janet! &#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;I had a good week with workouts. &#038;nbsp;No swims. &#038;nbsp;I thought about it once or twice, with yesterday being my last attempt but it was grey skies and so I packed up my swim goggles.&#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;Did lift 3 times, ran 2 or 3(?) and biked once. &#038;nbsp;I stopped keeping records with the juggle of the move. &#038;nbsp;I have been eating plenty and there's been wine. &#038;nbsp;But, I am staying just below 123 for now. &#038;nbsp;Been struggling with that number for a couple of months. &#038;nbsp;I anticipate a few pounds down once I get home. &#038;nbsp;Historically, that's what happens. &#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;Had some goodies out watching football today, but hit the gym to lift first. &#038;nbsp;Planning a run tomorrow. &#038;nbsp;More of the same up until Saturday when I fly out. &#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;

&#060;p&#062;Still dealing with a 12 hour day with work and commute, so not up to standards of pre-relocation workouts.  The gorgeous weather has supported really enjoyable weekend runs/bikes, but it is getting dark earlier in the pm, and I don't get home until 7pm week nights and eat dinner late.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Friday I signed up with a small gym in the concourse under the building in which I work.  Cardio machines, yoga and Pilates are available.  I start lunch time workouts Monday!
