Back from the wedding--it was wonderful. I'm up a few pounds, as I expected--but think most of it will disappear quickly as I get back to normal healthier eating and drink a lot of water. I tried for healthy choices when eating, but got a lot of extra salt, fat and alcohol. Only exercise was dancing and walking through the airports.

I put some Dr. Scholl's blister preventer on my feet before putting on the wedding shoes. Unfortunately, while it works for other sandals, on this day I didn't take into account what being on my feet a lot, sultry weather, extra salt and alcohol would do to my feet. They swelled up and I got bad blisters on my outside toes. DH fixed them up, but it's going to take a few days to recover.

This week I will rest up a bit, eat healthy again, and work back into my exercises. Want to be back to my new normal next weekend.

I have been absent from this thread for over a month now, I think. My proclaimed "no sugar and added butter" stint lasted around a week - stopped because it was making me too hungry and I was overeating to compensate.
I also tried yet again to do the 5:2 diet - because DH is trying it. It was much easier this time because I chose to use half the calories for milk for the numerous cups of tea I drink - but I read some research saying it wasn't that good for women, and also, I was just putting the weight back on on the "5 " days. So stopped that.

Have had a lot going on and was definitely indulging in stress eating and also as we have lots of people over there is a tendency to eat too much then. I have been really tired and have had a blood test to see if my iron deficiency has returned. I can see a dietician for free at my work, so when I get the results I am going to take up that opportunity. I am quite pleased that I didn't overeat much this last weekend. I am trying to reframe my thinking so that I think "wow how great that you get to be home and relax" and that that is enough - I don't need a pigout as well. I am also trying to cut back to little on weekend baking, partly for dietary reasons, partly because the washing up etc makes me too tired. My weight is down a tiny it but still about a pound over the top of where I'd like to be and 4 or 5 above my personal optimum.

Exercise has been bad. A few walks, a few runs. Trips to the gym down. I am beginning to wish that I had paid up for a full gym membership, instead of just for group fitness classes. The classes are harder to fit in with my work schedule than I thought. The best time is to go in the morning - but then I run into tiredness issues.

Hope the ride goes well Janet, and all the best to everyone else. I have been reading this thread with interest!

Got in 3 runs this week, despite having to do them in the PM and high heat and humidity.

Fall harvest is coming in, so lots of beautiful produce. Subbed in cauliflower for 1/3 of mashed potatoes, and DH didn't even notice!

Janet, I am in awe of your mileage!!

My week was mixed. After the move last weekend I was totally wiped out and I bailed on my trainer session on Monday. I did make it to the gym Wed-Thurs-Fri, so that's something. Food was... interesting. I may or may not have had popcorn and peanut m&ms for dinner once or twice before I could get to the grocery store! ;)

Now I am all stocked up with healthy food, though, so hopefully the coming week will be better. Plan is two trainer workouts, at least one boot camp class, and one tap class.

Shedev, it's an event, so I'll be riding with lots of other people, plus supported rest stops -- from what I hear, one of the last stops has wonderful apple pie and ice cream, so YUM!

Mo, congrats on winning the race, sounds like it was fun.

Kellygirl, is carpooling done?

Janet, is the century ride an event or an individual goal?

Alasse, that's the foundation of fitness.

Well done Mo on your win in the Paddle Board, that sounds a fun afternoon. As I sit here in the rain it sounds very appealing!!

I had a pulled glute last week so had three days off, then a walk and now back into it. Not worried about the exercise as I am in a good routine there. But have been greedy food wise - takeaways last night (deep fried) and a decadent meal out and drinks on Saturday, and chocolates today. Cross with myself about the chocs - the rest is okay. September is hard here for seasonal fruit and vege, still only cool stored apples, no berries yet, and summer vege yet to arrive. So it is the month that I go for imported pineapples and mangos, and warm salads. Citrus are fresh and in season so that is great.

Shedev, hope you are bouncing back after the cold- I also tighten up on the hip flexor area.

Well done Janet and Alasse and KellyGirl. Janet you are doing great distances on the bike, that is awesome!

My eating has not been terribly disciplined, but I've been very active. In the last week, I had one good long swim, a couple of 20-mile bike rides, and all the other days I ran/walked 2-4 miles.

Yesterday I reached a new milestone with my 70-mile bike ride. Amazingly, again, today I'm not feeling sore. My shoulders and butt were feeling it by the end of the ride, but otherwise, my legs still felt pretty good when I finished. Then I went home and ate three slices of pizza and had a beer! ;-)

My century ride is just a few weeks away, so I'm working my way up. I'll get in an 80-mile ride another week or two from now and then I'll be set for the big 100!

Hope that you have kicked that cold and have a good week, shedev.
Mo, you always seem to make the best of things! I like how you seem to maintain balance.
My week was okay. I only managed 4 workouts--2 runs, 2 kettlebells. I'm hoping for a better and less stressful week. I was running around like a crazy person last week since I was covering carpools for a friend who was out of town. I know it's just driving but between school(s) and soccer practices it is a lot of time on the road and made me really tired by the end of the day!

Hope everyone has a good week!

I had ups and downs. The scale went UP midweek but back down this morning. I had too many beers with a stand up paddle board outing in conjunction with a local pub. The good, the paddling (won the race at the end even!) the bad, the home brewed beers chock full of calories. Also had beers last Sunday visiting a friend out of town, but did lots of walking, a little bit of swimming, and started the day with weights.
Other than that I got in 3 runs, 2 weight workouts at the gym and an indoor bike. Missed one swim, but did the SUP so it evens out I'd say.
This week I want to keep the scale level all week long and hope for a continued downward trend. I historically weigh more in summer and less in fall, so I'm hopeful. Watching the wine and food intake. Workouts seem to be in a groove.

I was sidelined most of the week by a head/chest cold, but went to the gym Friday. I mostly wanted to do the squats because my hip flexors like to tighten up on my right side. I did okay for most of my workout but lost steam at the end. Food was ok.

How was your week?
