Hit the pool 3 times, and the weight room 3 times this week. Made a mistake loading the bar for deadlifts my last work out, but did the 6 X 3 set - failing the third on the last set. Heavy lifters might laugh, but it was 115lbs (I had just gone up to 110 last workout.) My goal is to get the 45's on the 'girl's bar' - 125, and then progress to the 'men's bar' with the 45's - 135 (and thereby 'lift my weight').

Had my Thursday training session and I mixed a scoopful of Whey protein powder (I bought an organic grass fed whey protein that is flavorless) with a 20 oz bottle of Gatorade G2 which has 12 gms of sugar. My trainer said I should be drinking at least 20 gm of sugar during my workout so I may supplement with some table sugar or eat some jellybeans or candy corn in addition while working out if I find I need it.

I have to admit that I sailed through my workout more easily with this drink instead of just water. Had energy throughout and afterwards. Hopefully, the whey protein will help with building muscle as my triceps were sore afterwards. (My trainer showed me how to roll out the area I work on before and after my workout to reduce any muscle soreness and it really works)

As for me at the moment, I'm nearly 2 weeks into my, "not eating between meals regime" and have nearly reversed the weight gain from an overdose of peanut butter slice I made, and ate way too much, off a fortnight ago! I find this surprisingly hard to do in the evenings

I slacked off running last week, thinking I had a cold, but decided this week that it was actually hayfever and no excuse to skip exercise, so back to 3 runs and 2-3 gym visits, though they are frustratingly short, being in my lunch hour.

GF - I wrote a post a few days ago but it got lost, so here goes again.

Some people do only lose baby weight when they wean but I'm thinking LO is too young to say that you will definitely be one of them. I read a book after I had DD1

Outsmarting the Female Fat Cell--After Pregnancy:
which I found helpful, and it said that most women don't lose much between 6 weeks and 3 months pp - but then between 3 and 6 months it can really start to come off. Ii did find this true with my first - all but the last 2 pounds came off by 5 months, all of it by 6, and more by 7 . But at three months I was still in a bigger size. (it did take longer with DD2 and 3, but was all off in a year) This was breastfeeding the whole time. A six month old baby, just before introducing solids, can get throughout a lot of milk!

My trainer has been on vacation since Sat and the club was closed on Sunday. I did work out on my own Monday afternoon. Yesterday, Tues., my dishwasher died (at the end of the wash cycle) and I had to pump out the water , clean the floor, and rewash all the dishes by hand. That was yesterday's workout. Wednesday (today) is one of my off days, but cleaning the house is exercise right?? Tomorrow, back to reality and my trainer kicking my butt into gear.

Adriana - pushups are tough. If you work on strengthening your core (yoga and Pilates) they should get easier. You could start out doing your pushups against a wall, or an incline (such as kitchen counter or stairs) and when that gets easier reduce your incline until you can do them on the floor.

I am pushing the panic button on my weight this week. I am up 15 pounds from my happy weight and... ugh! Starting yesterday I am eating half-portions of everything. Have been to the gym Monday and Tuesday with plans to go today. And am trying out a Pilates class for the first time on Saturday, which I'm pretty excited about!

Not to send this thread in a different direction but upper body strength is the hardest thing for me. I thought I would never and I mean never be able to do a plank (forget a side plank) until a few years ago. I lifted weights in my 30s. I was still not able to do a push-up.

Overall Im pleased as I’ve managed keep the weight off that I lost earlier this year and I keep pinching myself that I’ve not put any back on again. Phew.

Well done with fitting in the fitness with a small baby.

Yay for all you people who managed to not “fall off the healthy habit wagon “ this month. Not me........
Mom & MIL both sent to hospitals with falls (hospitals 3 hours apart- usually they have the courtesy to wreck havoc one at a time- not this month!),
house not selling though strangers traipsing through regularly- house has to be in pristine showing condition ( really because we still have to live our lives folks)
managing to get daily walk in but stress eating horribly..... wonder why.....

I am impressed GF. I have been dealing with a migraine that finally let up with the rain. It went on for days. I had been going to Yoga daily and walking every day. Not for the last 3 days. Hope to start again soon.

Adriana, it took me years to do a push-up. I finally learned how by doing Yoga and doing Chaturanga. That was not easy for me. It still isn't.

This past week, I squeezed in four strength workouts (20-25min), consisting of lighter squats (135-155lb), minimal bench or leg press work, and higher rep “back” and “core” sets (dumbbell rows, rope pull-downs, dumbell overhead press). Still going on walks 1-2x/day.

I’ve been weighing myself daily since leaving the hospital and have concluded that I won’t lose any weight until I wean. Despite changes in food, movement, and sleep over the past seven weeks, I’ve been stuck at the same weight for around five weeks. I don’t think it’s CICO as much as NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) down-regulating. To others, it’s probably not too noticeable and my dissatisfaction is less about my shape than it as about having to buy work pants for September. I was hoping to avoid that, but oh well, it is what it is.
