Thanks Bettycrocker. A friend of mine recommends BioX Power Whey Complex in Vanilla. I haven't tried it yet.

Kerry, smoothies are so good. I make one every day. I have yet to find a protein powder I like, though.

This week I started a weight loss plan. My goal is to lose 25 pounds in one year. This week I've been good about maintaining a 12-hour fast - no munching in the evening, eating lighter at dinner and eating more fibre, fruits/veg at breakfast/lunch. I also made my first smoothie this morning. It was good! I'm thinking about adding protein powder.

Wow Gradfshionista, those are impressive weights. It took me months of steady lifting to get up to 85 lbs for squats and 125 for DLs.

Even if you fail at the target, you are gaining in strength. Way to go!!!

A bit of back trouble this week, and I couldn't get my [moderate weight] 245lb barbell to break the ground. Ugh! That counts as a fail in the program I'm doing, but I want to give it another try at the end of the week before reseting my numbers. Happily, I am now squatting in the 170s and benched 116lb, which is the strongest I've been at any weight.

I had a pretty decent week. My runs were for the most part pretty good. I woke up earlier than usual to get my runs in before the fog lifted. That made a huge difference in my energy level. Today's run was late am and it was a major slog. Ugh. Hope everyone has a great week!

Hot and humid here too! 4 runs, 2 yoga. I need to get back on my bike, and into the pool!

Food is good. We have been getting local raspberries and peaches at the farmer's stand, as well as other fresh veg. in season. Been experimenting with fish and shrimp on the B-B-Q. There seems to be a definite link between my gastro issues and wheat based carbs. No pm gastro problems if I eschew wheat based carbs at dinner and afterwards. Had corn on the cob as my carb yesterday pm, and no problems last night.

Steady week. Two gym sessions and one step session (walked up 2000 steps in native bush nearby) and one long walk with a friend by the river. Eating good until yesterday when I ate lots of chocolate and still regretting it as feeling horrible. I need not to do this again!

I didn't run the last week until Saturday morning but I did golf two or three times. The longer it was since my last run, the better I golfed. I ran saturday and golfed today and my game was off quite a bit. I have come to the conclusion that running stresses my hip flexors and that wreaks havoc with my golf swing. We have a t time on Wednesday so I will see if I do better than today. :)

I have been walking quite a bit. I had over 50K steps for the weekdays which is very good considering my fitbit died and I didn't get the replacement until the next day. It seems that they are okay with water but not salty sweaty water. I mistakenly wore it on the inside of my running bra four days in a row and the salt must have corroded the battery.

I am still plugging away at the whole30 which is approaching whole60 now. I am down 5.5 lbs and feel good. I am in a fitbit challenge this week but will get my steps walking instead of running/walking combined.

Hot, humid weather really does make it harder to exercise. We had a bit of that last week, but unlike So Cal the rain didn't make it to us.

Wow Carter: that is fantastic. I find it a challenge to make 10,000 steps even twice a week. Good luck to you Maneeera, and more than that, I'm sure your hard work will be rewarded.

I lost two "real" pounds in July--real meaning over the pounds I gained in Paris, which I quickly lost. Goal for August is to lose the remaining 3. Visit to podiatrist was encouraging--he doesn't think the arthritis in my feet will get much worse and offered more ideas to help.

By changing my exercises and adding a couple of more difficult ones I already am stronger. I had gotten into a rut doing same old stuff and wasn't progressing.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic for this week.

Shedev, sometimes getting plenty of rest IS THE healthiest thing one can do. Lack of sleep results in so many unhealthy changes ----- aching muscles, hormonal changes and fatigue. I'm glad you rested and if your diet stayed healthy, there is nothing to worry.

Carter, I'm super impressed! Let's not count red wine But your fitness levels are definitely healthy as of now.

I'm starting a health and fitness challenge of my own starting today. I have always been regular with exercise - about 45 to 60 minutes of brisk walk every day. But it's been so humid that lately I've not been able to walk more than 45 minutes, and not as fast as I'd like to. With my husband traveling for 3 weeks and all dog walk responsibilities falling on my shoulders, I'm hoping to turn things around. I'll aim to double my walking (my large GSD needs Atleast two long walks a day since we live in an apartment, and 2 shorter walks too) and resuming jogging twice a week. I will also throw in toning exercises. Most importantly, I'm going to concentrate on juices, soups, grilled meats and steamed veggies for the next few weeks. I do tend to munch on a handful of chips every now as then, or indulge in pizza. I honestly want to clean up my diet completely since I'm cooking for just myself. It's much easier to do when you're home alone and can honestly eat whatever you feel like. Wish me luck!

How wonderful that you feel so rested! I definitely have room for improvement there.

I had foot surgery 10 months ago and could do very little for several months leading up to it. I think I have finally turned the corner! Something clicked in the last couple weeks, and my toe is holding up better than it has in years. Not a moment too soon, as I am up about 10 pounds from being a slug for so long.

I love to walk, so I'm hoping to be able to report at least 70,000 steps and 420 active minutes each week this month. If so, I'm doing a gear capsule refresh! Having laundry bottlenecks constantly, even though there's a shelf full of clean gear (that is no longer loved)

If we don't count red wine, my diet is always excellent;-) I do need more sleep though!

It's been oppressively hot in Cleveland this week. I'm working on getting into grad school and I realized today that being overly hot was increasing my aggravation with the review I'm doing for taking the GRE. My healthiest habit this week has been getting a lot of rest. I don't know when is the last time I've felt this rested. Food has been good with plenty of water. Exercise has been less good, lots of room for improvement.
