				<description>&#060;p&#062;Let's see...had a great week fitness-wise Sunday through Thursday: I ran every other day and did two Fitness Blender workouts. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Then I went on vacation for the weekend and mostly abandoned all healthy habits! Lots of pie and ice cream. Not too many workouts. On the positive side, we did take our two little (5&#038;amp;7) girls out kayaking for an hour on an ocean kayak--that counts as a little workout, right?

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Just did 10 miles on the bike at the gym. &#038;nbsp;Didn't get to swim once last week! &#038;nbsp;Darn thunderstorms close the pool each day I'd had scheduled. &#038;nbsp;Argh. &#038;nbsp;Going to have to really try to get some make up swims in this week. &#038;nbsp;&#060;br /&#062;Food has been okay, and wine okay. &#038;nbsp;Neither awesome, nor terrible. &#038;nbsp;Hanging around my 'training' weight. &#038;nbsp;3 weeks until the race. &#038;nbsp;Gulp.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I had my annual physical last week and was surprised to learn that I've lost over an inch in height! &#038;nbsp;Well, I knew this was normal and likely to happen, but to me? &#038;nbsp;Not really! &#038;nbsp;I was told that we are tallest in the morning and by afternoon we settle down. &#038;nbsp;So I tested at home.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;(In my image in my brain I am 35, weigh 130 and am 5'8 3/4&#034; tall. &#038;nbsp;The reality is different.) &#038;nbsp;At the doc's office I was 5'7&#034; but had her remeasure with me standing as tall as I could and I was 5 7 1/2. &#038;nbsp;At home first thing in the morning I am&#038;nbsp;3/4 inches taller, but settle back to the lower height by noon.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;My bone density is great, so that isn't a problem. &#038;nbsp;Also, I have&#038;nbsp;enviable blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and I had my thyroid level checked and that is fine. &#038;nbsp;My main problems are some osteoarthritic aches and pains and the skin pre-cancer--I have a post on the dermatologist. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Anyway, most of the shrinkage is in the spine (flattened feet count a little bit) and core exercises are even more important as we get older. &#038;nbsp;Losing toned abs can cause your spine to sag forward, making that tummy problem even worse. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm regaining the strength I lost and am almost full speed on exercising. &#038;nbsp;Maintaining at about 5 more pounds than ideal, but still determined to get there &#038;nbsp;and maintain.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Now I'm off to do some crunches. &#038;nbsp;Have a healthy week, everybody.

&#060;p&#062;You're right dianthus. Sometimes getting out and working in the yard is great exercise. And being able to look out and see what you did is pretty satisfying.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I did pretty well with my steps. I slid back a little on soda and had a couple this week, but this week I'm going to clap down on that.&#038;nbsp;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Shedev, the glutes and quads are a really weak area for me and it is hard to add muscle. &#038;nbsp;I blame it on having long thigh bones. :)&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Anne, sounds like you had a good week for exercise. &#038;nbsp;I have never tried pilates but it sounds interesting.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I have been maintaining my low carb eating for two weeks now. &#038;nbsp;I have lost a pound or two which isn't great but is much better than gaining. &#038;nbsp;I haven't been doing a lot of &#034;exercise&#034; of the gym type but we built a deck and planted a lot of trees and shrubs in the last two week so have been getting lots of exercise through physical labor. &#038;nbsp;I sometimes think that is more beneficial.

&#060;p&#062;Not feeling very good at the moment as have to get a hold of my eating, &#038;nbsp;eight is up above the top of my &#034;range&#034; and I can really see it in photos.&#060;br /&#062;On the exercise front, I had new gym enthusiasm and went to 2 pump classes, pilates, body balance and an RPM. Plus DD and I went for a jog plus intervals on evening. No long run this weekend owing to my social life!
