Carla - Well done!! What an acheivement.

Sally - I've been overeating too. I'm pretty sure it is because of the cold! Weight is up and I'm only looking at my more comfy work options. This better stop soon or I'll have nothing to wear for work

In better news, I've finally acheived this last week my first fitbit average of over 10 000 steps! I've also been keeping up the schedule that my physiotherapist has got for me - 2 gym (mostly weight) sessions, 3 walk/jogs, a long walk, plus daily strength exercises to try to strengthen other parts of my leg and take the pressure off my knees.

I think the latter is interfering slightly with my sleep goals though, as I do my the exercises while watching TV at night and it takes longer to unwind than just sitting. Sleep should also improve when Masterchef Australia finishes (which is did last night, but I'm a night behind), as I watch more television when it is on!

Last week went pretty well until we went on a Boy Scout hiking trip this weekend. There is something about hiking with a 40lb pack that makes one starving!! I didn't bother to try to track my food, but I'm sure I ate even more than all that exertion required. So... I'm back to tracking this week.

Today hasn't been the best day, but tomorrow I plan to get back to tracking on Sparkpeople. My goal is to stay in the range of calories they suggest for losing weight. It has worked for me in the past. I'd like to lose 1-2 lbs per week until I lose the 10 lbs I've gained in the last 2.5 years.

Another strange week in a strange month.

I saw my doctor last week and to my dismay I only measured 5'6 3/4". I had lost some height last year but this was kind of a shocker. I am really 5'8 3/4", or I was. This was later in the day and I'd been on my feet. So first thing this morning I measured and was a reassuring 5'7 1/2".

So the spine is compressing, which is normal, and women lose more than men according to what I've read. I still weigh the same, which explains the steady expansion of my waistline.

I have a close friend--we've been friends since college. We are practically the same age and height, but she's lost 3" and has osteopenia. I had the bone density test last year and I am fine. This puts things in a different context and I am happy that I am much healthier than many my age.

DH is unhappy about weight gain and lack of exercise, so he suggested we start a fitness program together beginning August 1. We'll both do better that way.

5 Yoga practices last week. I am eating fine. My allergies are kicking up for some reasons. This has an impact on my sleep. DH has the same problem.

great stuff, Shedev and Jenn!
Carla, you amaze me. Hope you get that trip to Rotterdam and represent your country!
Sally, I seem to always be see- sawing between keeping up good habits, and getting really slack. Why, oh why can I not just keep on keeping on?
I'm sure you can get back into it quickly again.
Barbara, I have copied you and made an effort to not eat after 9pm, too.

For me - I did the 4 days of Jillian Michaels via You Tube, had the weekend off, and have walked x2 this week.
If I move fast now, I might qualify as getting one early night!

Shedev, congrats on the new levels.

Jenn, that hike sounds like quite a challenge. Congrats on it.

Runcarla, a triathlon, wow. The possibility to represent Canada - how exciting. I hope you get in. I can't believe I just understood your screen name. I kept wondering what type of name it was. lol.

Kiwigirl, glad you had a good 6 weeks, here's to pulling it back in.

One walk, one swim, stopped eating by 9 most nights, going to bed by midnight most nights.

Does shopping walking count? But overate yesterday and need to slow down my eating and be more conscious. And prioritize exercising. Oops, just realized I didn't hear my alarm go off and it's just a bit after midnight.

Wow Carla that is fantastic! Well done.

Good weeks for you too Jenn and Shedev.

My week has not started so well. I have been overeating after a good six weeks. I need to pull this back in as two days is okay but two weeks is not!! Exercise has been all right but not my best. A refocus is required.

Sunday I participated in a triathlon that I've been fussing about for over a year. I did not get a personal best, but I got a result I am okay with. If I don't get bumped by someone in a lower age group 'aging up' I will have qualified to represent Canada as an age grouper/amateur at the International Triathlon Union World Championships in 2017 in Rotterdam!

I will know in a week or two. DH thinks we should go for the competition, and then do a vacation - possibly one of those 'Viking River Cruises.'

I'm feeling a little beat up, and all of my 55+ years today, so plan an easy week or two. Once I know where I stand, it will be back to work!

I scored a 96/100 last week on my irunurun goals (150min moderate to vigorous exercise a week and 5 servings fruit/vegetables a day).

On Thursday, we did a brutal 1.2-mile hike, with a 1000-foot elevation gain on a rocky trail. It was like climbing up and down 140 flights of jagged, crooked, unevenly-spaced stairs. Absolutely worth it, but I was glad for the hot springs that evening.

Food wasn't as good, as I got bored of the fruit/vegetable variety we brought on our camping trip, but I still managed to get close to 5 servings/day.

If I score above 80 again this week, that'll be three weeks in a row, and I'll feel comfortable adding another habit, though I'm not sure what that will be.

Happy Monday YLF. Food was good. This week I started tracking the amount of fiber I'm eating. I was really low, so now I'm trying to get in more. I'm shooting for 15-20g.
Exercise was good. I've gotten to new lifting highs in a couple exercises and will likely get to new highs in the rest by the end of this week. Totals were 2 stronglifts, 2 Krav, 1 yoga. 1 missed workout.
