This was my last week in Florida. I said good bye to all the wonderful people at the Yoga studio and they asked when DH and I would be back. Lots of hugs. Such a great place to practice. What this means is my daily Yoga practice is now on hold while we drive back home. We are sitting in a car for long days. Try to walk in am and pm. Try to eat reasonably well. Best we can do.

I'm back from my conference, and recovering, though this morning I weighed 4 pounds up. Yikes! So I'm hoping that is mostly bloating and water and the like, and paying attention to how I eat especially this week. My goal is to re-establish the good habits I was keeping before the conference. I'm proud of myself for continuing to work out (well, not at the show, except to stretch, but afterward I got right back in to it despite some pretty severe fatigue).

Runcarla, we could be body doubles! I am 5'7-1/2" tall, currently 143 lbs and my measurements are very similar to yours, 36 - 30- 40. I am small boned so my legs and arms are very slim, but very toned.

Despite a recent death in the family, I have been able to stay on track, but still waiting for the weather to improve so I can workout outside. (snowing today! Can you believe that?)

Hi everyone. Looks like everyone is trying to be active as am I. Last week was a flurry of activity and I worked out 7 days in a row. I tried to watch what I eat but I'm still at maintenance level.

Here's a picture of DD and me in the park run!

I don't know why I always look slim in the gym mirrors but not in these outdoor shots (unless the answer is that they have doctored the gym mirrors)

MsMaven I discovered my Vit D was low last year and took supplements, but stopped over summer when it was so sunny - I am starting up again now.

AM you are inspiring me with the swimming. I am thinking of swimming once a week next term. I need some external impetetus to do weights too!

Gradfashionista - I think walking all day cancels out travel carbs!

No workouts due to travel, but tons and tons of walking. Wow, the body really forgets what it supposed to do when it's forced to spend all day, every day, sitting in front of a computer. I had serious back pain the first two days walking and being on my feet, but barely noticed anything subsequent days. Food has been carby because of travel, but not worrying about that until after the holidays.

I had some good days with nutrition but then some big meals (too big) out when visiting with my father. I really need to think before I eat when dining out. I also didn't get in as much swimming because of the travel.

It's a new week and I'm taking advantage of a free two session trial of group training. I may decide to pay for a full month just to get me back into some weight training to add to my swimming.

I feel good that I'm trying, making changes, and being conscious of nutrition/exercise. That's all really good stuff for all of us.

Not a good week--I was unusually hungry all week and ate more than usual. My exercise was working in the garden. I hadn't planned on it, but the weather was nice and once outdoors I saw a lot I had been neglecting. I did get a lot of exercise! Now I'm stiff, my knees ache, and weight is up.

A new week today, and I plan to recuperate and do much better. For me, keeping a food and exercise diary is essential, so I'm starting anew. Louise, do take care--you have a lot to deal with. Last year I read that as we get older our bodies don't absorb B12 and D as well, so I've been taking supplements, but not overdoing it, and I think it has made a difference for me.

Runcarla you look great
Laura glad your knee is on the mend, knee pain is awful
Anne my teacher friend swears by vitamin b12 for boosting energy levels

My healthy habits have just been about being gentle with myself. We've had 3 deaths in the last 3 weeks so I haven't had the enthusiasm for exercise. I've not had much appetite but I've been trying to eat my fruit and veg and not eat too much rubbish. I managed to get back on track with walking to and from work last week and I've still been weekend greyhound rescue walking which is wonderful for body and mind and getting plenty of sleep x

Shedev - going well
Runcarla - impressive workouts and photo
Kiwigal - enjoy your break from the gym - your commitment to attending is impressive!

Not such a good wek for me. My frequent battle between exercise and sleep had sleep the winner. In fact by Sunday midday I had a session of what I have now termed "energy zap" - where I am so tired I can barely sleep and just have to lie down for a couple of hours. I think this was partly brought on by a very busy day on Saturday with no down time.
I am feeling better now and have gone back to taking echinacea ( I have a head cold as well) and vitamin D.

So all I managed exercise wise was one 4km run midweek and then DD9 and I did the 5km park run together on Saturday. She wasn't feeling too good as she had a cold and had slept in a way that hurt her neck (but insisted on still doing it) so we walked a good bit of it, taking 40 minutes.

Foodwise not so good. I was absolutely craving biscuits - (ie cookies) - sometime like shortbread. I am not usually much of a biscuit eater and thought I had my sugar cravings under control so I think it was from the whole lack of energy problem.
Weight is about at the top of where I'd like to be.

A hard week of exercise here so had the weekend off. Back to the gym this morning but a few aches and pains. Will have a mini break from the gym over Easter weekend here (five days) and I think that will be great timing for me, do some biking and walking instead.

Wow, in my opinion you look great, Carla!

My knee is almost better - I can walk up stairs again without wincing and the bruising is nearly gone. It's been almost two weeks since I fell on it at bootcamp class. On the plus side I did a decent job watching my food while I was laid up, and haven't gained any weight. Haven't lost any either, with all the forced inactivity. Time to get back on plan!

On vacation this week, but managed 1 swim workout before leaving. Since there is a gym at the resort next to where we are staying (and we can use it) I was able to get in the 4 run workouts that are week 2 of my 10 week training program (for a 10K).

We are 'self catered' but have been out to eat as well. Great seafood and vegetarian options! No gastro problems all week!

To keep me motivated, I ask DH to take a beach shot when we vacation. I put the date, my measurements, and my weight on the back of the picture and keep it with my fitness diary.

For the record, 5ft 7.5, 36 - 30 - 38, 148 lbs

Happy Palm Sunday. I'm coming off a pretty busy work week and starting another one, so not a great week for workouts. I Had a good week for food though. Down 3 lbs. Hedev told me that I'm getting skinny. I'm on the high side of normal for my height. My goal will put me in the middle.
