Anne, FWIW, it might just be a phase. I have found that if you keep something in the fridge or pantry long enough, you become desensitized (though not immune) to its presence.

anne - re the peanut butter problem Have you tried powdered peanut butter ( we use PB2) ? It's a far healthier alternative, lower in calories and fat , sugar free, and tastes even better than real pb, if you can believe it. You mix it with water, so can make it as thick or runny as you like.

Still doing workout with a trainer twice a week. Working slowly on rebuilding lower body strength after throwing out my back in late December. Totally pain free, just working on hip mobility and strengthening, but a bit more slowly as a workout 2 weeks ago caused painful calves. So a lot of stretching several times a day to stay loose, especially, psoas, piriformis, hips, hamstrings, glutes, calves.

I have started to do some additional lower body strengtheners myself at home in between sessions - hip bridges, side planks, full planks, calf raises, etc.

I have been doing 4 or 5 Yoga practices a week. I have mostly recovered from a Sinus Infection. I was in bed for over a week and on antibiotics.
Our dear sweet Sophie tore the ligament in her back left knee (CCL). She can not put any weight on her leg and cannot tolerate being lifted. Surgery is an option but we are not sure doing it in Florida makes sense. The recovery period is 2 months and we are supposed to be leaving here in a week. Anyhow that is impacting our daily life and exercise routine.

I don't think I've managed to get to this thread for a while, so this is a bit more than one week of an update.

A couple of weeks ago I finished a whole30 diet and subsequent reintroduction. Sad to say I don't think this has made a permanent effect on me - I am back to eating pretty much like I did before. I did lose a couple of kilos, and haven't put them all back. I think I respond well to rules based things and am a bit lost without them - but whole30 is too strict and hard work for a permanent plan so I need to work out some rules for myself.

One thing I'm struggling with is eating too much peanut butter - something I never even liked until a few years ago. Unfortunately my teenage daughter eats heaps of it so I can't just not buy it. Any hints for what to do when a food that is difficult for you is in the house for other people? Current plan is to ask her to hide it!

Exercisewise I have recovered from the bad effect of whole30 on my running (i.e. I stopped trying to be "fat adapted"!) and back to running 3 times a week with a lot of intervals, just started cycling a bit more after a lot of punctures were fixed, and got a new routine at the gym. I struggle with time at the gym as I go in my lunchbreak and seldom manage to finish my programme.

And I'm doing my first triathlon next weekend! Just a short "novice" one to start off with. Any logistical tips would be most welcome :-)

I follow a three times/week weight training schedule that incorporates primary lifts as well as accessory work, and I crossfit 2-3 times a week just for fun. This is de-load week for me on the weight training schedule, and I am so glad.... the last four weeks of training really taxed me and used up every bit of my energy! I'm going to take it easy this week with a couple of extra rest days, then I'll be ready to start fresh on Sunday with a new lifting cycle!

10 days left in the month and I've logged the same number of workouts for March 2018 as 2017 already - not that March 2017 was stellar! Have not yet been in the pool, but have been getting outdoors for runs. It is cold, but no ice or snow to contend with. Weight training was consistent and weights are all going up this month.

We have the flu in our household, so there has been a lot of chicken soup and lemon toddies. I'm hoping not to get sick, but have a scratchy throat...

Spring approaches. I’ve been relishing the past few days of sun, even though temperatures wouldn’t be considered optimal by many—give me sun and cold over cloud and rain, any day.

Same old routine, though I scaled back last week. A total of three short lifting sessions, and around eight or nine cardio sessions. Looking to incorporate some overhead squats more regularly for balance, but it’s dependent on rack availability.

How was the past week and change for you?
