Just checking back in after a somewhat depressing appraisal at the gym at my workplace. Turns out I have below average fitness and my fat percentage is at the high end of acceptable for my age (though wouldn't be so bad if I was younger, apparently). And while my BMI and waist/ratio are fine, the extra fat is in my arms! I always thought my arms where too big. I get 5 free PT sessions, so we'll see what improvements I can make!

Did all my workouts and had relatively high protein intake, nearing the triple digits--for a veggie, that's a challenge!
I had to get measurements taken and discovered that they haven't significantly changed, even though I've been lifting for over a year. I've given up trying to lose weight, because no manipulation of calories or macros that I can sustain seems to work. My body is stubbornly happy at my current weight, so I'm focusing on maintaining this weight while getting stronger in the gym.
On that note: I reintroduced dead-hang pull-ups on my conditioning days, and was able to do a set of four, and two sets of three. Slowly trying to work my way up to a set of ten. Had a good week squatting 145lbs, deadlifting 205, and benching 97.5

Well, I know I really need to get back on track in terms of exercise and food. After seeing family I hadn't seen in a while, I realized that this winter was truly bad for everyone. I knew I was in the same boat when my go-to "bigger" pants didn't fit.

So, I ran 6 miles (on the treadmill) this morning and I'm proud of myself for doing that. I'm not a morning person but may have to rethink that.

My goals this week: run 5x and include a 7 mile long run, strength training 3x, and eat more protein. I definitely need to reduce my carb intake (less bread and rice). Wish me luck.

Doing pretty well overall, except that I bounce up and down over a three pound range.

I will keep at the exercise and food diary. I would like to keep off the three and lose another three.

I had a tummy bug most of last week, but kept up with light workouts and ate as well as I could. I lost 4 pounds, but have already gained back 3 in my day and a half of being close to normal :)

This week my goal is to get back to strength training workouts and stick to my portion sizes. I need to eat more veggies.

I have a new fitness friend on my fitness pal, and it really helps to know someone is going to log in and notice your progress (or lack thereof) every day. If anyone is on my Fitness pal, look me up - I'm "crazydavises".

Yes, I am pretty sure I am in a hungry week right now (for cyclical reasons)
I did my 3 runs last week, but no spin or pump classes as I was too busy with other commitments. After just getting back into running again a few weeks, I challenged myself to try a 5km run and did it in 32 minutes, though with about 3 30second walks. While this is nowhere as good as I was last year it was sign that I can enter a fun run and not be the last person!
Foodwise I mostly stuck with my no dairy no sugar plan, with a few planned exceptions such as a wedding (where for celiac reasons I couldn't eat a bite of the delicious asian finger food, but compensated with mocktails!) and a few non planned ones, like a bit of butter to fry the pumpkin pancakes I made for brunch today (since I don't own any the prescribed coconut oil
I am looking forward to finishing this in a week, but plan a very gradual reintroduction, to try not to put weight on again. (see also Kiwigirl and Shedev!)
I have found MORE bloating with this approach, and think that cutting out yogurt may be a contributory factor, so I'll introduce that back first.

Weightwise I had a good week and am now firmly in the middle of my "normal" (personal) range. And a few more clothes are fitting!

Karie, sorry to hear you are still having headaches.

Kiwigal, my problem is similar. I'm good at successfully losing weight but when I reach my goal, I feel like I'm done. Before I had to be gluten free, Hedev was always pushing goodies at me.

Style fan, what are you thinking of doing?

Runcarla, great idea, I've been taking food to work to make sure I get a balanced meal.

AM, food gets most of us.

I'm unusually hungry today.

Didn't post last week, but it was a very good week, then last weekend I came down with a fierce head cold. This week managed work every day, but '0' workouts.

Food was good, in part because I have been making a weekly hearty soup and freezing the leftovers to take for lunches. I've got a good stock of minestrone, red lentil, and chilli as well as some home made baked beans.
I just heat it up in the microwave at work.

I have continued to do daily Yoga practice at the great Yoga studio near where we are staying in Florida. I am trying to eat reasonably and drink lots of water. I am not walking as much as I do at home because my dog refused to walk here. We are not sure why. I might try some other form of exercise in addition to Yoga. I didn't bring my indoor gym shoes. I will figure something out.

Lots of hard gym work so feeling fit and strong. It is warm here so I have no excuse. Eating mostly okay but had my son's birthday requiring a cheesecake and a dinner out with tiramisu AND profiteroles.

I have realised in a few months of writing these weekly posts that it is ALWAYS the food that lets me down. Exercise is good most weeks, at worst okay. I have lost a small spare tyre that was growing late last year but I have stabilised again and ideally would like to lose an inch or two more in the middle. I love food, I have two thin active sons and a fit active husband all who can eat whatever they want. I am hungry from workouts and have a healthy appetite....but I need to exercise more consistent control over a longer period. I think I am going well and relax again and undo the progress I have made.

I admire people who are more focused than me with their eating.

It was a good week here in spite of the super cold weather. I took a new class at the gym, Body Pump, and I really enjoyed it. I am continuing to eat gluten free, although the only change I have seen is a little less bloating. No reduction in headaches or migraines, but I'll continue for another month or two and see what happens.

I had a pretty good week. Exercise was ok. I'm still in hibernation mode. So ready for spring. Diet was good. Lost a couple lbs, so now I'm 9 above my goal weight. It's right in the middle of normal for my height. I'm not really looking to become waiflike, just normal weight with a little muscle tone.

How was your week?
