				<description>&#060;p&#062;I haven't been following this thread, but I wanted to mention one thing. Gaining 10 pounds almost overnight can be a sign of a significant health problem that should be checked out by a doctor, nurse practitioner, etc., Unless you really went wild and can account for it in an increase in calories/decrease in calories expended. I'm mentioning it because someone I know's thyroid problems came on almost overnight.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I love cycling too. I didn't actually learn until I was 12. but then it was my main form of transport between the ages of 14 and 23.&#038;nbsp; I rode my bike into work today after a little break with my sore wrist, and it was the best feeling.&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I need to check but I think I've reported in nearly every week since January 1. This has been productive because I get positive feedback and also because I didn't want to fall by the wayside.&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;This last week or so my weight has been slowing going up. I haven't eaten many sweets or carbs, it's just that I'm eating a little too much. In for the homestretch now.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Mary, some of my happiest memories are biking with my two boys, especially on rented bikes in Yosemite. That and riding free as the wind all over my old neighborhood when I was a kid. I never worried about my safety in those good old days.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm doing my exercises but I'm also sitting a lot. Actually, right now slumping a lot in front of my computer. I do have a sticky on it that says &#034;Posture!&#034; although one cat or the other keeps knocking it off.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I do believe that everyone's effort to eat healthy and exercise will pay off in the long run. And I have to admit I am at the point where I'm entering the long run.&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;

&#060;p&#062;Ms. Mary, so happy for you about the bike! I love cycling, it's one of the most enjoyable and liberating activities.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I am slightly down in weight (dairy, say it ain't so), but with a loss of weight came a loss in strength, unfortunately. Managed a single squat at 193.5, and a single deadlift at 281b, but failed at the bench at 132.5. I only did six singles total for the entire workout, when in the past few weeks, I've done upwards of 20. Not sure if it's the stress or the fact that I've scaled back on protein, but I might have to start watching macros again to ensure that I'm hitting my protein target.&#060;/p&#062;

&#060;p&#062;I haven't posted on this thread for a while, but I bought myself a bicycle last month and am getting into cycling. Today I rode with GF and his buddies and we did 28 miles including a 2400 foot climb! I was slow but I made it, so I'm calling it a big win! It's fun to have a sport for which to train, as opposed to just going to the gym for no reason, you know?

&#060;p&#062;Weight wise my sudden loss of the previous week has reversed, due to brownie making/eating, taking a break from exercise to rest in preparation for a 10k and generally eating rather too much (self justified as carbo-loading!)&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;The good news is that I am pretty happy with the 10K time which is either a PB or pretty close, which I am happy about since it included a trip to the loo which slowed things down a bit. I hadn't actually run 10km in preparation (not since April) so I was happy to make it to the end.&#060;/p&#062;

Managed to shed a couple pounds but I'm still way up from where I should be. A month or so ago I gained 10 pretty much overnight and it is being really stubborn about coming off. So frustrating.
